[poor diet] Alcoholic? [or other addictions] Yes Diabetic? [poor diet] Runs In family but not as yet. Abusive? [psychologically/sexually/physically/verbally] All - father - physical abuse at times ( provoked by mother ) who is EXTREMELY psychologically & verbally abusive. Although she does suffer a mental illness the same as my sister. Are they attractive? [physically/spiritually] Dad would of been classed as physically attractive, my mother is too bitter hating & judging everyone for that to even be a possibility. I love my parents because they live by example, no preaching just showing how a good life is lived. I love them as a devotee would love God because I see God work thru them in virtue. |

I strive to be like them with raising my own kids. Always giving without complaint. Always being the best I can be. Exodus 20:12 ''Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land Anyone see any contradiction here ^^^ ? The vagueness of language, that would you imagine a venomous hatred? When if you take the whole of the dialogue, it ends an encompassing statement, "In the same way, any one of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be My disciple" Then here it is said, "My light will shine for you just a little longer. Walk in the light while you can, so the darkness will not overtake you" When the law was given by Moses, the time line and environment was different, that people were with their families, but when the Light is sent into the world, that Light is there to go to. It was very literal of the times, and what of this day and time? Many people have turned away from their parents, and gained little for it, because they get lost in their own little caves. |

Exodus 20:12 ''Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee'' Honoring and loving are two very distinct actions / feelings. Honoring means to interact with them respectfully and NOT TO SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THEM, even if it's the truth. The commandment says we are to HONOR our mother and father, not love them. |
Ashes2ashes User ID: 74695358 United States 09/25/2017 07:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In truth, our children are not "OURS." They are their own being with their own purpose and mission in life. The only care of the parents is to raise them to be virtuous, strong (spiritually, mentally, and physically), provide for their needs until they are of an age to begin learning to provide for their own needs, teach them by example, and then let them go. This world is twisted with laws and social norms that are not supportive of a real parent/child relationship. And I'll continue to raise mine by what I outlined above, in direct defiance of how "the world" wants them/says they should be raised. Why? Because my own mother showed me how. She was never "easy" on me and I knew I was expected to behave like a lady, because she behaved like a lady. She was as good as she could be about letting go, and our relationship evolved to mutual respect before she passed. We were more like the best of friends than mother/daughter in her remaining years. My father repented of his addictions when I was 13, and by grace and mercy alone was I able to forgive him of our early relationship issues, and begin to love and respect him as a daughter should. Due to his alcoholism, I never felt safe or secure with him until he healed and began to lead me by example. Do I love my parents? Yes. The same as I love myself and my own children. However, I also feel as though love is more than the world defines it...it is a mutual, reciprocal respect. |

Quoting: 7he4ryan Joel Kellum says he’s living proof that the claim is a lie. A 40-year-old Los Angeles resident, Kellum did everything he was supposed to do to get ahead in life. He worked hard as a high schooler, got into the University of Virginia and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history. Accepted into the California Western School of Law, a private San Diego institution, Kellum couldn’t swing the $36,000 in annual tuition with financial aid and part-time work. So he did what friends and professors said was the smart move and took out $60,000 in student loans. A FORBES article states that tuition money invested in a low-risk broad spectrum investment package would generate over 2 million in wealth in the time it takes to graduate. IF YOUR PARENTS LOVE YOU ??? Why wouldn't they tell you this? Why do you work for people whose parents DID tell them how the system works ? What if they just didn't know? They aren't capable of love unless they can recite your rules for life? |

Catseye User ID: 75525730 Dominican Republic 09/25/2017 09:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My parents were great, I couldn't have had any better. And since I've moved down here to an underdeveloped country, I have a renewed appreciation for how they raised me and the education I got from them and the schools I went to. Just in the last few years they have extended school hours here. It was 3 hours a day for 8 years and now it's like 6 or 8 hours a day, I forget. But there are hardly any real adults here to teach their children common sense, manners, etiquette or anything we take for granted in our modern, civilized societies. This is a place where even most of the adults act and think like children. To make matters even worse, this country, especially on the north coast, is the whore capital of the world. Prostitution is legal and lots of old, morally bankrupt men from civilized countries come here to have sex with young women who will do anything to raise their standard of living. They think just because these women are of adult age it is okay. They are pedophiles, the women here may have adult titties and butts but they have the minds of children. What's really awful is the parents of the whores here usually encourage it, anything to get some more money into the household. Even if you have shit parents in the US, if you have a good presence of mind and an urge to excel, you can usually dig yourself out of where you are. Down here, it is impossible. Be good to yourself and those around you, don't keep acting like a dick and reincarnate in this third world shithole to be on the receiving end of the things you dished out in your lifetime. Forgive your enemies, it messes with their heads. Thoughts create, mind them well. |

Parents are under pressure, and even if they could see a fraction of the predicament they are in, of the futility of schooling, to the Ouroboros of materliasm and toil. To look into that whole abyss, would at the same time, spoil upon the ease of heart they could spare their children at that moment. Quoting: Ryan Goble The head of the snake needs to be cut off.
