Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72487004 Exodus 20:12 ''Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee'' Honoring and loving are two very distinct actions / feelings. Honoring means to interact with them respectfully and NOT TO SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THEM, even if it's the truth. The commandment says we are to HONOR our mother and father, not love them.
