Any thoughts on this? Don't shoot the messenger. I'm not saying I agree. If we have thousands of satellite's orbiting earth, why do we need spy planes? |

Satellites have to be tasked, while they can be steered and manouvered into new orbits and new altitudes ---that takes time--it could take two or three days for a satellite to be re-programmed for a new mission. A Mach 3+ aircraft could take off, monitor an area on the other side of the globe, return to base and have its data processed before satellite controllers have had breakfast. |

You can't see Polaris from the Southern Hemisphere, except from extremely elevated positions in the first 200 miles south of the equator. On the summit of Kilimanjaro Polaris can be seen about to disappear beyond the horizon, descend a few feet and it's invisible. At sea level it dips below the horizon at the equator. The flat Earthers cannot successfully address this, it simply proves that the world is spheroid. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75473404 yeah, apologies, I actually don't understand it well enough myself to provide a summary, which is why I posted it here.. kinda hoping someone could put it in laymens terms. The future is not what it used to be. |

Yes they can go up and chill for about a day or two but come crashing down pretty quickly. The only thing that works is planes which you can see high altitude which are drones but keep a steady position no need to wobble around. |
