It really is very bazaar to have so much powerful sun activity at the same time as all the events going on in north and south America

dayum! these flares, sunspots, and CME's coming on the dying end of the current solar cycle too, strange

The explosion is so big that part of the CME is going to hit the earth even though the coronal hole isnt facing earth.

The fly problem is universal. I thought they were only confined to our dirtwad

While the earth has been hit by powerful solar flares before, the earth has also been going through something that has not been part of the equation in the past.

The earths magnetic reversal and the weakening of the magnetosphere.

Since the 1600 the earths magnetic poles have been moving and as they have moved the magnetosphere has been weakening. It has been estimated that between 1600-2000 it has weakened 10% and since 2000 another 5-8%.
