This was hard work, even for a grownup. I did this for a couple of weeks in my big boots and with gloves many numbers to big and when i was done i was just as salted as the fish. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75054753 It was to move a mountain of salted fish from one corner of a warehouse to another. This was hard work, even for a grownup. I did this for a couple of weeks in my big boots and with gloves many numbers to big and when i was done i was just as salted as the fish. I started working when I was 8 years old cutting lawns. The lawn mower handle was higher than my head which made it extra difficult. I was not strong enough to pull the cord and start the motor, so I could not stop cutting once an adult started the motor. As I ran over the fire ant nests, they came swarming up my pants. I soon learned to tie my pants tight over my boots and douse my legs with diesel to keep them off. I moved on to warehouse work, painting houses, delivery driver, and lumberjack. Finally, at age 17, I got my dream job..lifeguard at a swimming pool. Sitting up in the tall chair watching young women in bikinis all day while working on an epic sun tan. Sometimes the girls needed help putting on suntan lotion all over their bodies. I could not believe they paid me for this! The lumberjack work was the hardest, but I put on a lot of muscle that summer. |
