I think they are hiding the truth as it would be a E.L.E. or a Near E.L.E. event, if it hits us or comes very, very close to hitting us. Considering that Book of Revelation speaks of such events, (The Trumpets and Wormwood in Rev. Ch 8 and 9, and especially Ch 8:7-11). I suspect it is to preclude panic, up until the last minute. Plus, no Scientist would like to admit that Bible Prophecy might be right, as it might cause people to doubt Science(Evolution, Age of the Earth, etc) and accept other Bible facts as well. |

Russian astronomers have predicted that asteroid Apophis may strike Earth on April 13, 2036. "Apophis will approach Earth at a distance of 37,000-38,000 kilometers on April 13, 2029.
