This atmospheric feature was already imaged by NASA’s Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft over two decades ago. The fact that it has appeared in Cassini images indicates that it is a long-lived feature. A second hexagon, significantly darker than the brighter historical feature, is also visible in the Cassini pictures. The spacecraft's visual and infrared mapping spectrometer (VIMS) is the first instrument to capture the entire hexagon feature in one image. “This is a very strange feature, lying in a precise geometric fashion with six nearly equally straight sides,” said Kevin Baines, atmospheric expert and member of Cassini’s visual and infrared mapping spectrometer (VIMS) team at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California. “We’ve never seen anything like this on any other planet. Indeed, Saturn’s thick atmosphere where circularly-shaped waves and convective cells dominate is perhaps the last place you’d expect to see such a six-sided geometric figure, yet there it is.” [snip] continues @ [link to www.esa.int] Great post! According to the article, they have known about this odd formation since Voyager first snapped pics of it 26 years ago - strangely it's news to me! And now with much nicer pictures - and video! The hexagon formation reminds me of Hoagland's rather lengthy dissection of the very odd Saturn moon Iapetus: [link to www.enterprisemission.com] Of course Hoagland thinks it is entirely artificial, and he does make some good points - but perhaps it's not - and somehow Saturn's formation created this oddly formed, hexagonal structured moon? This also reminds me of the eye formation spotted at the exact south pole by Cassini a year and a half ago. [link to saturn.jpl.nasa.gov] All very interesting. |

I have collected satellite photos of earth hurricanes also showing this structure. It has been documented on Enterprisemission.com. Exactly, it's the outline of a hexagonal prism that surrounds Saturns axis. The prism is a by-product of the double-tetrahedron pattern of hyperdimensional energy that manifests within Saturn from hyperspace. If you look at a double-tetrahedron from the top-down, the overlapping patterns of the triangular bases of the top and bottom tetrahedrons form a hexagram in the center with the axis of the double tetrahedron as the center of the hexagram. By simply extending this hexagram shape along the axis toward the North Pole and toward the South Pole, a hexagonal prism is formed. The ends of this prism forms a "hexagon shape" which surrounds both the North and South poles. |
