Hell, I am going to go out on a limb here and tell you all my expenses:

Electricity - 400.00 a month.

Car Insurance (3 vehicles full coverage) 350.00 a month.

Food Costs $ 300.00 a month.

House payment $ 450.00 a month.

House Insurance $160.00 a Month.

Medical Expenses $200.00 a month.

Car Payments $400.00 a month for 2 vehicles

Misc expenses $200.00 a month.

I didn't include other expenses such as clothing expences, cellphones, etc.

We are heavy supporters of credit cards.
I have my main one memorized.

2% cash back most expenses.

3% for dinner purchases.

Same here and I'm more than surviving, I'm thriving!

The trick is to embrace minimalism and be full of gratitude.

hf
 Quoting: Rev Woo-Woo

I think the gratitude is the key, because a life full of gratitude is not focused on want, and is full filled whether rich or poor.

Personally, I have a lot of stuff accumulated through the years, but my wants are minimal. We have lived on one income for decades, but eat very well, vacation, buy what we want and need and really don't lack for anything of significance.

I believe that prosperity is elastic and will stretch in response to a heart and mind full of gratitude. I do not believe that prosperity is dependent on a lot of money, but rather is a state of mind.

At one time in my life I was very poor and I used to read the Sermon on the Mount over and over to turn my mind from fear and lack toward God's goodness and generosity. The exercise in faith building helped me immensely to understand more about wealth, prosperity, gratitude and fearlessness and to live a satisfied and contented life.

About 40k for me. No wife or kids. No debt beyond monthly bills. No house payment or rent (I manage an apartment complex and have my rent paid for). I have pretty much everything I need and still put money away every month towards savings/retirement.

My earnings are perfect for my current lifestyle, but realize that with a money sucking wife and kids it would be unsustainable. Looking into a vasectomy and a premium account at porn hub so my situation doesn't change LOL

Side question: If I ever close down the business at any point in the future, I assume they tax on what is being transferred from my business to personal acc?

Me and wife about 3 years ago earned around 50,000 a year, lived in trailer 900 sw ft, 4 kids, barely had enough to survive, wasn't broke but wasn't saving a lot wither.

Now we make over 200,000, and yes it sounds like a lot, but with higher tax bracket, we had to get a bigger house, we got better cars. Because working on a car every week or month, was getting old, and costing a lot.

With the bigger house comes more electric, more gas, more water, we actually take vacations now, eat a little better. Better clothes, etc...

But now we can actually save for retirement,. And have money of the cars break down. Or something in the house breaks, or kids needs medical care, dentist etc...

Point being when you make.more you spend more, rather you want to or not, your taxes will go up, you will find yourself buying things, that you use to. Couldnt afford, you migjt eat better. Etc...

I know people think I live on 40, 50, 60 a year, if I had 200 000 a year I would save all that extra money, yes, you would save some but I guarantee you would also spend more than you do now.

I've been in both worlds, and I like the higher income better, but I know I can survive in the lower income again of I had to.
