The authorities had to ease the strict curfew after bodies started piling up at the morgue because people could not stay out long enough to bury those who had passed away of natural causes since the storms. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75602650 Where are the Sandy data for comparison? I don't know the stats - but I can tell that there are STILL people who have not been able to move back into their homes. There are STILL people fighting with their insurance companies and can't begin renovating their homes until it's settled. Their houses are STILL rotting away because of red tape. Paying mortgages on houses PLUS rent for where they're living now. How many years on? It's really disgusting. God Bless President TRUMP! GOD BLESS AMERICA!! |

Where did you get the data regarding gas stations, land lines and supermarkets for Sandy with which to compare to this? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75461729 I lived there. Was without power for 12 days. Gas was next to impossible to get for two weeks. MAJOR metro area vs a shanty town island. It's true, I work in the power generation industry and we did work on a plant down there near the coast a bit more than a week after the storm, we had to bring our own fuel for the return trip in a bunch of jerry cans. |

If it were a city, it would have a larger population than Chicago. It should probably be a state, and voted for statehood last year. It has 3x the population of Hawaii. I think it's time we figure out what to do with his "territory". |

The reason, said Jorge Rodriguez, the CEO of PACIV, in an editorial in the New York Post, is that “for the last 30 years, the Puerto Rican government has been completely inept at handling regular societal needs, so I just don’t see it functioning in a crisis like this one.” “Even before the hurricane hit, water and power systems were already broken. And our $118 billion debt crisis is a result of government corruption and mismanagement.”....>>>> [link to www.foxnews.com] |
