Dentist told me to use fluoride toothpaste for my bleeding gums

I stopped using the fluoride stuff about a year ago but since my bleeding gums have gotten worse while using Euthymol (original toothpaste) he said that "it is not recommended to use original toothpaste fluoride is important or your teeth could decay more and more" or something like that.

My teeth are actually in good shape. It's just the bleeding gums that are problem. He said I have mild gum disease.

I have ignored the dentist and basically scrapped all toothpaste and started using baking soda instead. Have seen a mild improvement but gums still bleed a little while brushing.

He said to do flossing too but that has sodium fluoride also.

Should I just continue with the baking soda? I do oil pulling with coconut oil too but it doesn't stop the bleeding gums.
