Taliban Claims It Shot Down US Spy Plane Over Afghanistan

Update (0955ET): The Taliban is now claiming that all U.S. military personnel on the U.S. Air Force's E-11A BACN plane were killed.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahed said, "a special American aircraft which was flying over Afghanistan for an intelligence mission was technically shot down by the Taliban." 

Mujahed said the crash occurred in the Taliban-controlled Sado Khel area of the Deh Yak district in Ghazni province on Monday. 

He added that "all on board including high-ranking CIA officers were killed." 

Update 2: In a stunning breaking development, video and images from the crash site of a downed aircraft in Afghanistan appears to show that an Air Force airborne communications jet has crashed. The Taliban is claiming responsibility while further saying "high ranking US military personnel" and "CIA members" were on board, though this is not verified.

"A U.S. Air Force’s E-11A BACN (Battlefield Airborne Communications Node) crashed during the morning on Jan. 27, 2020 in Afghanistan," aircraft analysis site The Aviationist writes, noting identifying features from local video. "The mishap happened in the Taliban-controlled area in Dih Yak, Ghazni. Early reports identified the jet as a passenger aircraft from Ariana Afghan Airlines, but the company immediately denied the reports."

BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:40 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) recently blocked a U.S. military patrol from passing through one of its checkpoints in the Al-Hasakah Governorate, Al-Masdar has learned from a source in northeastern Syria.

According to the source, the Syrian Arab Army blocked the U.S. military patrol that was attempting to pass their checkpoint west of Tal Tamr, in a tit-for-tat move against the American forces.
The source said the U.S. military patrol was attempting to pass the Syrian Army checkpoint at the town of Tal Al-Laban, which was established by their forces shortly after the American forces withdrew from several areas in the Al-Hasakah Governorate.
Meanwhile, Sputnik Arabic reported a similar incident, but claimed the U.S. forces demanded the Syrian Army remove the Russian flag from the checkpoint.
The Sputnik Arabic report said an Arabic translator from Iraq was ordered to ask the Syrian Army to remove the flag, but was told by the military that they would not fulfill their request.
Tensions between the U.S. and Russian forces have recently increased in northeastern Syria after both parties blocked one another from accessing a part of the International Highway under their control.


Breaking: Syrian Army captures new ground in Idlib, advances towards Turkish post
Minutes ago, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) announced the capture of new territory in eastern Idlib after overrunning the jihadist defenses near the city of Ma’arat Al-Nu’man.

According to a field report from the front-lines in east Idlib, the Syrian Arab Army managed to capture two towns from the jihadist rebels; these towns were reportedly Ma’aratah and Kafr Basseen.

As a result of this advance, the Syrian Arab Army’s 25th Special Mission Forces Division (formerly Tiger Forces) finds themselves within sight of the Turkish military’s observation post near the town Hesh in eastern Idlib.

The Syrian Arab Army has already surrounded at least three Turkish observation posts in the Idlib and Hama governorates, but they have yet to envelop one of them this far north in Syria.

At the same time, the Syrian Arab Army is nearly on the verge of encircling the city of Ma’arat Al-Nu’man, as their forces have already seized the northern and eastern flanks.

The Syrian Army will likely leave one road out of Ma’arat Al-Nu’man open so that the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) can withdraw from the city and avoid a long battle.

My wife being American met here a Chinese mother of a boy who had to leave Romania as her husband working for Huawei Romania ended his job, so they had to go back in China. That mother was desperate as she was in love with the beauty of Romania. Her 6 yo son was a student of my wife. They were nice decent people. My wife is crying for their fate knowing they originated from Wuhan. The mother of the boy could not find any job for her to remain here in Romania no matter how much she wanted. She said here she discovered the real freedom.
In Romania there is the same fascism of Israeli origin although way less inforced comparing to US UK France Germany or Sweden. What freedom did she mean? To have GLP or to swear at the government? No biggie at all, or maybe it is?

LARGE TURKISH MILITARY CONVOY HEADS TO SOUTHERN IDLIB AS SYRIAN ARMY CRASHES MILITANTS NEAR MAARAT AL-NUMANA

large Turkish military convoy crossed the border with Syria through a checkpoint of Kafr Lusein, located in the north of the province of Idib, and is heading towards southern Idlib, according to reports in pro-opposition sources.

The convoy reportedly consists of 30 vehicles, including 12 armored vehicles carrying equipment.
The development came as Syrian government forces besieged a Turkish observation point in Maar Hattat, a village in Idlib province. This was the third Turkish observation post besieged by the Syrian Army in recent months. All of them were located near positions of al-Qaeda-linked militants.
The Syrian Army command launched an offensive in Idlib on December 19, 2019. Government troops have liberated about 50 settlements in the south and the east of the province. Currently, they are preparing to liberate the key town of Maarat al-Numan located on the M5 highway.

An American military transport plane has crashed in Iraq, local media reports claim, days after another strategic aircraft of the US military crashed in Afghanistan.

The C-27J Spartan went down in Iraq’s western province of Anbar, the Alforat News website reported Wednesday.

American and Iraqi officials have yet to react to the reports about the alleged crash.

Russia’s TASS news agency, citing El Nashra news outlet, said that all four people onboard the plane were killed in the crash.

Saudi Arabia’s Al Arabiya network has also reported the crash, quoting Iraqi sources.

On Monday, a Bombardier/Northrop Grumman E-11A aircraft mysteriously crashed in a Taliban-controlled area in Afghanistan’s Ghazni province.
