BREAKING NEWS OF TODAY SYRIA

BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army has entered the strategic town of Al-Ta’manah this afternoon, following a fierce battle with the jihadist forces in the area.

(I don't remember for how many years this war has been fought. Maybe... EIGHT? How come they still have soldieres to fight and to die for their country? Maybe they resorted to the use of mercenaries)

Led by the 25th Division Special Mission Forces (formerly the “Tiger Forces”), the Syrian Arab Army began their assault on Al-Ta’manah last night, when their troops began storming the town’s surroundings.

Shortly after launching the attack, the Syrian Arab Army managed to score their first advances, as their troops captured the Ta’amanah Farms and the town of Khuwayn Al-Kabir.

On Thursday morning, the Syrian Arab Army began their attack on the town itself; they would face heavy resistance from the jihadist rebels that were protecting Al-Ta’amanah.

However, the main line of defense for the militants would ultimately fold, paving the way for the Tiger Forces to enter the town this afternoon.

If the Syrian Army can take hold of Al-Ta’manah and Khuwayn, they can ultimately secure the Hama-Idlib axis and the eastern flank of Khan Sheikhoun.

Khan Sheikhoun and northern Hama were captured during the Syrian Army’s large-scale attack last week. Since then, they have worked to secure this area in order to prevent future any future infiltration by the jihadist rebel forces.

Iranian oil tanker previously seized in Gibraltar to dock just north of Syria

The crew of the oil tanker Adrian Darya 1, formerly known as the Grace 1, has changed its registered destination in its Automatic Identification System to Iskenderun, Turkey, a shipping source stated.

Meanwhile, a source in the Turkish port of Mersin stated on 29 August that the tanker would enter Turkish territorial waters and head toward Mersin to be unloaded there.

Iran emphasised earlier this month that it was considering sending naval ships to escort the Adrian Darya 1 tanker, formerly known as Grace 1.

After it was held for a month, a Gibraltar court ordered the release of the ship on 15 August despite a last-minute request by the US to extend its detention.

However, the authorities of Gibraltar rejected the United States’ request to extend the detainment of the tanker, citing differences in US and European sanctions against Iran.

New aerial footage shows Turkish military post completely isolated in northern Hama

BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:00 P.M.) – A new video posted by the Anna News Agency caught an aerial glimpse of the Turkish observation post in the rural town of Morek in northern Hama.

As it is shown in the short video, the Turkish observation post is completely isolated in Morek, with no Syrian military presence nearby.

The Turkish military’s observation post became isolated last week when the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham lost the key city of Khan Sheikhoun.

With their latest losses in Al-Ta’manah, the jihadist rebels are now far from the Turkish observation post.

Turkey has vowed to remain at this observation post in Morek; however, it is not clear what their purpose is anymore, as the area has been cleared and is no longer near the front-lines

The tanker is heading to Lebanon imo.

If she would had such intention, today, in the morning she could continue the way to Lebanon, right from the SW of Cyprus, where she was, but, in fact the tanker headed North and then EAST, going far from Lebanon.

Hundreds of Russian troops allegedly deploy to Idlib

Hundreds of Russian troops are being sent to the Idlib Governorate in northern Syria, the Russian publication Lenta.Ru reported this weekend.

According to the publication, hundreds of Russian troops belonging to the Yevgeny Prigoshin private military contractors were deployed to the Idlib Governorate, despite a pause in offensive operations.

“The plan is for groups of 50 people each, with the support of Russian aviation, to take part in street battles necessary to clear the populated city from thousands of militants associated with Al-Qaeda (banned in Russia),” Lenta.Ru reported.

“Today, Idlib is being kept under control only by the presence in the region of hundreds of thousands of civilians. Having evacuated them, the military operation against the militants can be continued, and in a completely different way,” they added.

As of now, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has paused all offensive operations in the Idlib Governorate as they adhere to a ceasefire that was proposed by the Russian Armed Forces.

However, this new ceasefire in the Idlib Governorate is contingent on Turkey dissolving the jihadist group Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.

While the Syrian Army has paused their ground offensive, they have not let up their artillery strikes on Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s positions in southern and western Idlib.

The Syrian Army is likely to resume their offensive if Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham remains at the front-lines in the Idlib Governorate, as they have refused all previous ceasefire deals.

Turkey wants Syrian Army to withdraw from Khan Sheikhoun and several areas

The Turkish authorities want the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) to withdraw from several areas in southern Idlib and northern Hama, a source from the military told Al-Masdar News on Friday.

According to the military source, the Turkish authorities called on the Russian Armed Forces to force the Syrian Army to withdraw from the territories they captured in August.

The military source said the recently captured territories include the key city of Khan Sheikhoun and the town of Morek, which currently has a Turkish observation post inside of it.

Thus far, the Syrian Army has withdrawn from the Turkish observation post area in the town of Morek; however, they were quickly replaced by the Russian military police, who sent a convoy to the northern countryside of the Hama Governorate.

While the Syrian Army did agree to leave the Morek area, it is highly unlikely that they will withdraw from Khan Sheikhoun or the other areas they captured from the militant forces in northern Hama and southern Idlib.
