Also, what happens to water when it gets really hot? It boils, eventually will dry up, so if the fire is hot enough it would evaporate the water, and since the fire is this hit it would burn the tree

So, yes a green healthy tree will burn we see it all the time, a forest fire doesn't just go through the forest catching dead trees on fire, it wouldn't last long if it did

Fires make their own weather and swirling winds - some things get spared, because the wind blows the fire around it instead of onto it.

Finally had a chance to see that close to three minute video and wow... What's worrying me the most is my area's drought is getting worse almost too fast. In July and August we had at least two major rain/storm systems come through for about two weeks each. It was a strange summer to me due to the fact North Texas summers are normally hot and dry, not up to warm and soggy. We've not had a good rain/storm system come through since mid August.

It's been about two months since the last good rain/storm system that came through here, and even the local paper has been reporting on our worsening drought conditions in our area. It's been months for much of the Northwest now North Carolina and possibly other parts of the East Coast too that have been widespread burning for over a month now with North Carolina being more recent I think. I thought North Carolina got a major rain storm from Hurricane Jose or some other recent major hurricane.

So I'm moderately worried that my area is "due" to get a major firestorm. This is something I'm not wanting to think about simply because these firestorms elsewhere on this continent have been getting spread faster and faster due to high winds and alot of dry vegetation.

But yeah, Black Knight, something's seriously wrong with these ever increasing number of major fires nationwide.

Living trees have evolved though natural selection to survive fast moving fires and to even take advantage of the fires as signals to drop seeds.
