Anyone have their landline and cell service down for most of the day in their county?

My phone company left a voicemail stating phone service would be unavailable between 3:00-3:30 AM October 12 for some kind of maintenance.

Because of the wine country fire no electric power for four days no fiber optic cable or phone for four days and no computer. Power came on in the last 45 minutes. No dry ice anywhere and no traffic lights stopped my search for that day ice. Used that wet stuff in bean pots.

This has happened once before here. It gives me the creeps when both cell service and landline are down. I can only imagine if it were nation wide. I realize I have no way to get in touch with family or friends in a real emergency. Glad I can GLP now. I didn't know how widespread it was as NOTHING worked. We are fucked if hit with an EMP.
