There is a story about a young man who made a pact one day with the Devil...
There is a story about a young man who made a pact one day with the Devil. ‘So you want to become rich? Fine,’ said the Devil, ‘but every time I bring you money you must give me something in exchange.’ ‘And what would that be?’ ‘One of your hairs.’ ‘Only one hair? Agreed!’ said the young man, extremely pleased. His greed was such that in a short time he was bald, which brought about many changes in his life: his fiancée found him ludicrous and left him; grief-stricken, he began to drink, and no one wanted his company. In the end, he went out on a winter’s day with nothing on his head, caught cold and died! Of course this anecdote is humorous, but this is how a great many people reason: ‘What do I have to lose by cutting my ties to the Lord and satisfying my whims? Nothing will happen!’ But unfortunately something does happen: every day they lose a few particles of light and vitality, and since this loss affects their family and professional life, little by little they ruin everything.

"When they no longer have so much energy to carry on running after glory, power or pleasures, many people decide it is time to settle down and consider heaven! But what can they be thinking of? When you have no energy left for the earth, you have none left for heaven either. Staying quietly in your corner, because you don’t have enough energy left for business or for intrigues and passions, is not wisdom, and it certainly isn’t spirituality.

All those who espouse the devil when they are young – let’s put it like that – must be under no illusions: the devil turns his back on them in their old age, because they have nothing more to offer him. They think they are divorcing of their own free will, but not at all; it is the devil who is sending them packing. He sends God all the debris he has no more use for. And what a sight for the Lord, and what a lot of help he gets for his work!"

"Those who do not put themselves in service of the light necessarily serve the darkness. This is an implacable law. Willingly or not, consciously or not, if you fail to choose heaven, you are headed for hell. If you do not make the decision to climb, you will come tumbling down. You may think: ‘The light? Heaven? What on earth is that? I want to be free!’ Well, you will not be able to prevent the forces of darkness from coming to dwell in you. Those who seek this kind of freedom will discover slavery. They fail to realize that they are placing themselves under the influence of dark entities which are only interested in exploiting them. They get mixed up in things, imagining it is they themselves who desire and decide, when in fact they are carrying out someone else’s business. Most people are like children when it comes to understanding freedom: they believe they are free when they engage in all sorts of unreasonable and dangerous things, which will eventually limit or even destroy them. They open the cages of wild beasts which will tear them apart and devour them. Only the wise know that to be free they must first limit themselves, by placing themselves in service of the divine world."

Over the ages, religions have more often than not resembled families tearing each other apart. Not only have they claimed to be the only ones to possess the truth – the only legitimate heirs of the heavenly father – but within each religion there is also so much conflict and injustice. As if it were up to humans to decree who is a son or daughter of God and who isn’t! You will say that nowadays people have become more tolerant as regards religion. Yes, and why? Because, often, religion is only a matter of indifference. As for those who say they are believers, they are no more ready to show openness or understanding.

The true sons and daughters of God are those who can find God and worship him in others’ religions too. They have understood that God dwells in the souls of all beings and that that is where they must look for him. Throughout the world there are beings in whom the divine truly dwells. This is what we should be able to sense in them, instead of worrying about the religion they belong to, for wherever these beings are, God is there too."

In the book of Jeremiah God says, ‘I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts… they shall all know me’. The law that God will place in human hearts is love. Then, no one will need to have religion or morals preached to them anymore: they will all know from within what they must do, how they must work, serve and love. So long as humans do not know how to live in love, there will be religions with their precepts and laws, but these will not be enough to lead them to God. When love comes, humans will no longer need religion, or rather, to the extent that they have succeeded in internalizing religion, it will be expressed through them in the form of kindness, radiance, selflessness, gentleness and light. It is because love has left humanity that religion has had to be instituted to make up for it. But once love returns, religion will disappear, because it will be back in human hearts.

So many theologians have distorted the image of the Creator and Master of the universe by making the devil into God's implacable enemy! An entity that is so well able to stand up to God has to be as powerful as he is, if not more powerful. You will say they never thought such a thing... But they did, and the proof is that, in Christendom, throughout the Middle Ages and well beyond, men and women who displayed gifts that were a little exceptional were accused of having received these gifts from the devil, of having made a pact with him. And, unfortunately, the Church itself contributed to the spreading of this belief. Yes, if the devil has held such an important position among Christians, it is the Church itself that is responsible. If anyone prophesied, healed the sick or received messages from heaven - oh no, it wasn't heaven inspiring them but the devil. So, we should not be surprised if some people really did want to make a pact with him. Why, they asked themselves, should we go and serve a powerless God, since all the knowledge and gifts come from his opponent, the devil? Their thinking was right, in a way. So, that is the kind of nonsense religion can lead to when it does not possess true initiatic knowledge concerning good and evil.

There’s a story about a young man sawing on a fiddle and making it hot who took a bet with the devil.

There is a lot of false teaching in that story.

Jesus Christ is the Resurrection and the Life. Give your life to him and there is no limit to what he can do with it
