Survival Tips and Words of Encouragement
As the roads to change continue to unwind, both in our debates and not, one thing seems to remain consistent. In the very least, light workers, those spiritually tuned... and those who turn to fear are going to spend a pinch of time in the "state of nature". So I ask that all of you share any survival tips you know of. Also, words of encouragement are always welcome. You can, if you need to, post about the debate over what is going to happen. I ask, however, that all try to keep there posts more geared toward "Survival Tips and Words of Encouragement". Thank you!

---

Okay, I'm going to try to establish some "Rules", but you need not follow them.

It would just be helpful to keep track of all the tips. That way if everyone wants we can pull the tips together about 100 so posts, 200 so posts and so forth (assuming we make it there). So if you could number yours. I'll start with number 1 and 2 and you can pick up with 3 and so forth. Thank you.

Please just number the survival tips and anything related. If you want to give something like "Be happy" a number you can, but you don't need to :).

Posts linking to survival websites are appreciated. Please remember to number them if you would.

This way as the post grows new people can sort of just read the "cheat sheet" all at once :)

Thank you everyone and I will begin:

Survival Tip: 1) Condoms can be useful for many things including water storage. Naturally, the ones that come pre-lubricated would not be very safe in this area. :P

Encouragement: Trust your instincts. If a group of people is trying to push you to go one way and you're heart tells you to go another, do not fear taking your own path. Trust your power!

Please expand upon this. Thank you everyone!!

Re: Survival Tips and Words of Encouragement
remember that survival is hardwired into your DNA. trust the wisdom of the body...learn to read your own signals; the tension in the gut, the hair standing up on the back of your neck, a sudden hyper-alertness for 'no' reason...this is the wisdom of the body, listen to it...

survival time makes things really simple, in a way,... all the b.s. falls by the wayside...

find a group of people you trust with your life, and stick together. a natural leader will emerge, make sure it's not someone with a huge ego or a dominator type.

the native americans traditionally consult their elders before any major decisions, well duh, the elders are a huge repository of life experience. grandmas and grandpas KNOW about life.

3. For the beer drinkers out there, it's not hard to brew your own beer. Believe it or not, the beer you make will taste better than anything you can buy at the store. This will also be a good handy skill in case you can no longer buy beer at the store. Check out the Brew Hut to learn more. [link to www.thebrewhut.com]

4. To adjust to breathing in high altitudes it is extremely beneficial to sing. This will often keep you from not being able to breathe and even dying.

Encouragement: Sing! Who cares how your voice sounds :). Just sing for yourself and enjoy the delight it can bring.

Re: Survival Tips and Words of Encouragement
hehe, this will surely rouse a few comments...remember, I'm only half kidding ; )

Currency will be dead in the case that a scenario such as this should arise, so consider what will be valuable in desperate situations. Prison currency aka cigarretes, toilet paper will get you so far. Many will want to stay awake so 'certain pharmaceuticals' might have an obvious advantage. Ammo, of course will have a high value, but if they're carrying, I'd advise you to keep you distance. And last but definitely NOT least is some 'gear'. Many will want to relax when they need to sleep so it might be a good thing to keep some smoke as a viable bargaining chip...

Good Luck!

Alright, I'm going to number those, just in case this does get big.

5) Cigarretes and toilet paper.
6) "Certain pharmaceuticals" to stay awake
7) Ammo
8) Gear

Don't know what kind of smoke you're speak of.

And for mine:

9) Those water backpacks with the little straws that come out of them are extremely useful. Especially for those out in the dessert like me.

Encouragement: Women are just men with the "wo" because of all the bunk they've had to go through throughout the years. Remember, without you lady's the babies wouldn't make it past the ~~~o. And like you were saying... How great would this world be if it were like a state prision. :)

Haha! I caught you on the third one. Well... that's an opinion. Never heard of the names "gear" or "mota".
