My conversation with two Jehovah Witnesses today did not go as they had planned & why you should avoid them
I had to share this with you because it's implications are far reaching to 8 million people wasting their lives.

Anyways, I left two ladies scratching their heads and it proved to me that the Jehovah Witnesses know nothing about the Bible despite their claim. Indeed, after this latest attempt to give me their literature, I dare do declare they are a cult. Here's why.

This morning at about 10:00 my door bell rang. Today, my only day off from work were I can relax and enjoy a nice long breakfast with my young daughter. But better than a Sunday or Saturday.

So I already had the feeling it was the Jehovah Witnesses because they come to our block every 2 months and nobody comes here in my little village to ring the bell.

I open the door, and immediately an old woman begins with her pre-programmed introduction, like sales people.

I say, "stop right there. Are you here to give me your literature, convert me to your religion or talk about the Bible?"

She says, "We want to talk about the Bible, but we want to talk about what the Bible really teaches from this magazine....." She opens her magazine.

I say, "stop, I don't need to look at that. I want to talk about the Bible. I love the Bible..."

She says, "great! But maybe we can come back another time."

I say, "why? I'm ready now?" [I called her bluff.] "I would like to discuss a scripture in Matthew, 24:34. Do you know it?"

She say, "I'm sure I read it. What does it say? We can read it from your bible if you like."

I say, "no, let's read your Bible for this one example. I have a collection of Bibles so I know what they all say."

She opens the Bible and read it out loud, "This generation will by no means pass away until all these things...."

I say "stop. Do you see what it says? Jesus said very specifically, "this generation." He did not say there would be multiple, or as your newest doctrine says, "overlapping generations." And for this reason I simply have to reject everything else you teach as false."

She say, "yes well, we received new light from Jehovah's organization about this and if you study it, it makes sense using the Hebrew scriptures that what Jesus really meant was "overlapping generations...." [She continues to mumble on.]

I say, "Do you even hear your self? You are attempting to put words in Jesus mouth that he did not say. He clearly, and it does not matter which translation you use, it says, THIS generation, as in singular. There is no way to change it. However, since my sister was a Jehovah Witness, I know about the problem here. The problem goes back 100 years to the time of Russel, who used the Pyramids to measure how long from the time of Jerusalem's destruction to the return of Jesus would take, and his fatal flaw was coming to 607 BCE as the year Jeruslaem was destroyed. It wasn't and if you do not know what I am talking about then it is clear you need to start researching. So, he took 607 BCE and arrived at 1914 for "this generation," but all those people died already and your leaders started to panic. What you also probably do not know is that your religion changed this teaching 5 times since 1960. Is that "new light" which gets brighter or is that simply men who are covering up their own mistakes? Let me be clear- they changed "this generation" teaching to mean "overlapping" generations so they bought themselves unlimited time for when the end of the world doesn't happen. They certainly cannot go back and undo their 1914 teaching! That would mean everything up until now was and still is WRONG. Do you see the problem?"

She says, "this is a long topic to talk about at the door. Maybe you would like a Bible study with a man from our congregation and he can discuss this better..."

I said, "I would enjoy that but you came to MY door, claiming to have the TRUE religion, and you represent that religion, so you should know your own history, no? Do you have the true religion?"

She says, "yes, of course otherwise I wouldn't be here."

I say "ok then you claim to have the Truth, the only truth, so can you say that I do not have a personal relationship with Jesus when I claim I do?"

She says, "well you have to know his name first and his name is Jehovah."

I say, "I knew you would say that but unfortunately, the name "Jehovah" was created by a 13th century Spanish Catholic monk, a religion you claim to be Babylon the Great! How ironic that your religion that claims the name Jehovah as true, and condemns the Catholic church as the most evil church on earth, literally from Satan, would take this name which means that Jehovah revealed his name to Satan's church. Do you see the logic fail here?"

She says "Well I didn't know about that but I know that the Teatragrammaton has the letters YHWH...."

I say to the young girl standing behind here, "look it up please on the internet..."

She says, "no don't, we get our information from our organization and that's it. Jehovah doesn't care how you pronounce his name or if a Spanish monk created it."

I say, "Oh really? How then are you supposed to sanctify and glorify his holy name if you don't even know what it is? Furthermore, part of the problem why you live in a closed circle is because you are afraid to do outside research because it might just wake you up and shake your faith in "the truth."

She says, "look I have this magazine entitled...."

I say "stop. I thought we are discussing the Bible? We don't need man made literature. We just need the Bible. I want to ask you ONE more Bible scripture in Matthew 28:19. Do you know that one?"

She says, "oh yes, very well. It says 'Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the holy spirit".

I say, "ok very good that you know that verse, as most Jehoavh Witnesses have probably remembered also but do you fully understand what it says there? When you get baptized in water, what do they recite?

Say says, "what the scripture says there..."

I say, "are you certain about that. There are two question they ask. Do you know them?" I ask the young girl, "are you baptized?"

She says "yes."

I pull out my phone with a copy my sister gave me of the two baptism questions they ask and I read it,

"On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do his will?"

They both shake their heads in agreement, nodding yes.

I continue, "Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in association with God's spirit-directed organization? Having answered yes to these questions, candidates are in a right heart condition to undergo Christian baptism."

Did you catch that? Did you see how you are dedicated to an organization and NOT the spirit of God? That goes against what it says in the Bible."

She says, "listen we have to go. I still want to leave this magazine with you. So if you like you can have it and I'll have another brother come and talk to you more."

That was it. They left, I wished them a nice day, but I could see that they were very bothered by these question I literally took from the Bible. As they were walking away, the young girl took out her phone and started to say something I could not understand but it looked like she was still looking up about the name Jehovah and wanted to know more while the old lady push it away as if to say put it away.

In conclusion, using logic and reasoning, something Jehovah Witneses claim to have but clearly do not, you can literally destroy their entire belief system with just two verses, that I randomly pulled from memory. The similarities to Jehovah Witnesses and the ever changing political left (or what you call in America, the Democrats) is astounding. Both groups are thoroughly brainwashed. Confirmation bias is their only education combined with a very strong case of cognitive dissonance. There is NO LOGIC and certainly NO REASONING with them, which is why you will see many people "taking the red pill" and waking up to their follies but nobody ever goes back. The only Jehovah Witnesses that rejoin are those who feel under pressure to do so so they can associate with their family who is most likely shunning them.

For full disclosure, I am an atheist. I was born in the USA but we moved to Germany when I was a small child. I teach my daughter that the best way to live is the way that is ascribed to Marcus Aurellius, who said to live a good life and be a good person and whoever is up there or not up there, you will either be judge by a loving God who judges you by your ACTIONS or in the case of nobody being up there, you will be remembered by your friends and family as a good loving person. That is the only way to live in my opinion.

Why would Jesus have referred to Jerusalem in 607 or 587, when discussing its future demise which happened in 70ce.
Why would he warn his desciples of something that occurred many centuries earlier.
The entire 1914 parousia doctrine is a non-starter based on this fact alone. Thus making all other jw doctrine based on 1914 moot as well.

Someone ask me once, "Have you taken the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior?" I said, "I believe absolute authority comes from within." He then replied by saying, "Who told you that?" At that point something clicked in my head that some people will just never get it. Some people are just configured to be told what to believe.

The discussion got heated and I really made the guy angry. He started talking about eternal damnation and where my soul was going to go when I died. I replied by saying, "How bad can it be? It can't be worse than living in New Jersey!" The guy did not even crack a smile.

Any religion without a strong sense of humor is just not in tune with God in my opinion.
You only criticize and hate in other people what you do not like about your own character. To appreciate other people's way of thinking is divine.

If you believe i the GOD of Abraham, then Jesus is a false GOD. This is actually very simple yet Christians seem to have the blinders when it comes to the truth. The 1st Commandment is clear. There is one GOD, he is the GOD who created the universe and everything in it. He demands total worship and devotion. There is only one GOD and He is all powerful. Now Jesus comes along and clearly stats he is sent from his FATHER. If the FATHER is GOD and there is only one GOD, then worshiping Jesus in not worshiping GOD. Jesus may have been a teacher, sent during a time of turmoil, but he cannot be GOD. The trinity was created to justify the worship of another being who is not GOD.

I have pointed the same thing out to several JW's. I also follow up with a question.

"What is a person called who foretells a prophecy?"

They answer, "A prophet"

Then I ask, "What is a person called who prophesies falsy"

I usually have to answer this for them as they see where I am going.

Last I ask, "What does the bible instruct us to do to false prophets?"

They usually leave then pissed off with zero argument.

What if "generation" means this generation of humanity? As in there are multiple. As in we are the 4th global generation of humanity to rise (and fall) on Earth. The Fourth Turning.

Generation doesn't mean about 30 years, it means the entire life cycle of the rise and fall of humanity on Earth... and we are the 4th Generation. And there will be a 5th, after we are destroyed.

Yes, the name Jehovah was created by a Spanish monk in the 13th century. He made a strong case for it, but again, fails based on other factors.

Think about that. "Jehovah" gave "new light" to a monk of what the Jehovah Witnesses call the religion of Satan.

Logic fail.

I do because they destroyed my childhood and tore my family apart.

They are evil incarnate.

Re: My conversation with two Jehovah Witnesses today did not go as they had planned & why you should avoid them
I thought I was a bad guy. For years they would come up and down our street. Like clockwork my neighbor 5 doors down would call or I would call him for the heads up. We would
Out on AC/DC hellís bells or highway to Hell . Later I learned they wonít come if you have wind chimes . I now have wind chimes . Looking back that wasnít a nice tho g to do . I think what you did was worse though .

You took true Christians people of such faith they are out walking door to door spreading the word . To be a true Christian. This is a must . I am a Christian but I do not preach. Like
Most I am Luke warm.So you took two passionate Christians and manipulated the subject to your field
Of strength . Then you insulted their beliefs very much like an atheist would . Instead of being loving you wanted a confrontation and not only that you made the younger one doubt her faith.

Sure arenít all religions a cult? How many Christians are brave enough to knock on doors cI paint my fingernailsling Christianity in these days of scientism.im guilty as well but your smug post made me realize how wrong I was .

You can defend yourself by saying all I did was quote the Bible . What if that young girl was converted from a crack whore drug addict and you shook her foundation and she returns to the life of faithless sin ?

I think I am going to take my wind chimes down and next time they come to my door I will take and read their pamphlets out of courtesy for true Christians preaching their I view of the Bible .

Half the people I know these days think religion is a form
Of outdated
Mysticism . I have my faith . Jesus has been called many names Yeshua is the the one I use in deep prayer .
Do you think Christ would be proud of what you did to those ladies ? They werenít there to convert you . I think they were looking for ice cold like warm people that have no faith and need it . Just my opinion . Peace be with you

I agree with you. Shame on OP for trying to destroy the faith of those two. If a person doesnít have anything better to offer(and atheism is not better) best to keep oneís mouth shut or just donít go to the door. I thank everyone who comes to my door(not that many) for trying to share their Christian faith no matter if I believe or not. I believe the JWís have a lot more positives than negatives and would never try to undermine their faith. Undermining anyoneís faith will lead to very bad karma.

As I said, my sister was a Jehovah Witness. It destroyed her life and ours. The family was town apart for multiple reasons and it all came down to her dedication to that religious cult.

It is personal.
