For some strange reason, I've been wanting some opium. Seemed like a good thing to crave. Think my church frowns on that sort of thing though.

Opium is probably far less dangerous for you than other forms of (manmade)painkillers.
I assume you're on them because of your heart problems?

Yes. I figured that would be alot better for me also. I wonder where I could get opium in it's pure form though.

I've smoked it once many years ago.
An ex army friend who'd been in the Middle East-and knew about "stuff"- grew his own crop in some wasteland and it was fairly simple to prcocess.Just squeeze the poppy heads when they're ready, dry it and then smoke it.
I only did it once and in fact it was very nice.No hallucinations or anything like that, just very relaxing and sweet.
I think the problem with addiction comes from psychological factors. I understand that people who need to have heavy doses of morphine etc. for post op recovery, when they're taken off don't have the same cravings as those who take it without needing a medical reason.
As it's natural it probably supplements the body's own natural endorphin producing faculties.
Have you got a Chinatown near you? LOL.
Of course I would never suggest you do anything illegal -that would be naughty.

ps Strange isn't it? Your church would frown on opium, but be perfectly okay with paracetemol or any number of artifical painkillers.

I think they only frown on drugs that are taken for recreational use. Mostly because of what it can do to your personality if you get addicted.

Same thing with marijuana. I think it would be ok for medical purposes. Though I don't care for that stuff. It increases heart rate and since mine is already breaking the sound barrier, it'd not do for it to discover how to reach the speed of light while still in my body.
