Yes...saw it. This guy is just a thug. It wasn't quite as bad as the video of the elderly lady that was mugged. That made me physically ill. At least the bartender could put up fight, albeit a weak one. That poor grandmother with the walker got wailed on and she couldn't even put her hands up enough to shield her face. Just another day on planet Earth, eh? It's all sickening.

I was it on TV and was sickened. The thing that bothers me is you can see another guy (a sissy for sure) who just stands there watching that scumbag beat that girl mercilessly. If that was me I would have started grabbing bottles of booze and wacking that fucker on the head. After the third one I think he would be a little woosy.

Anyone from the Chitown area who can find out if this bastard has been fired yet, or is he still working for the CPD. It wouldn't surprise me if he was still on the beat. The CPD has a very bad reputation.

"Abbate, 38, was arrested Tuesday night at his home. Bond said authorities were notified of the incident on Feb. 21 but were unable to locate Abbate until mid-March."

It took a whole month to locate him! Gee, why didn't they just go down to his precinct! That's a flat out lie from the city of Chicago.

Posting from Chicago here. I'm quite certain Abbate is no longer working for the Chicago Police Department. And never will be again. It looks cowardly on the part of the other bar denizens and it IS cowardly, but I think I know what they might've been thinking--this is a Chicago cop. A drunken Chicago cop who has a gun. If they'd made a move for him, the drunken cop could've pulled the gun on them, shot them, injured or killed them, (not to mention kicked or beat them) then when Abbate's buddies on the force showed up, he could've told them some lie like, "They tried to grab my gun", or "They tried to kill me" and his fellow police officers would've believed him. And cops don't like 'cop-killers' or anyone who'd try to be a cop-killer. And they don't treat 'em too nicely. So yeah, it was cowardice, but cowardice with a twisted sort of reason. When you see a COP FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, behaving this way, someone whose supposed to be protecting the public, what hope do you have? Not too many people in this world want to be a dead hero.
