First, you must understand.... anything with a PERSONALITY is NOT the only one.

There are billions of God's and Lords of this and that.

Each planet has it's own OverLord.

So, Jesus is a DIFFERENT Lord God.

Jehova is a Different Lord God.

Also, everything that has EVER been CREATED has a Lord God over it.

Each type of plant, animal... all things... all suns moon plants stars... were created by something. To CREATE you are a God or Lord God and these two things are different.

Once you EXPAND your VIEW of WHAT's up Charlie it makes more sense.

I have one possession, a Templar Sword.

[link to d3h6k4kfl8m9p0.cloudfront.net (secure)]

It was manufactured around 1847 by Horstmann in Philadelphia.

I recently acquired it as a gift in exchange for flame red Boxelder.

Any Bidders?

I also have an account which magically regenerates $133.00 a month.

I acquired that through 14 years of military service.

It isn't sell able, but it is used to fund my research into the cure for cancer via the cannabis plant.

So I spose the lesson here is, I AM armed, but doing Good.

Do not interfere with my works, lest YOU be revealed as Evil.

Re: I never thought I'd understand why God was so Brutal in the Old Testament
The easy answer is that the ot god is no more a god than Alphonse Capone was.

Both were brutal in the acquisition of power and wealth from the weak, both hired others to do tgere wet work for them, both promised to be generous with handing out indulgences
Neither could do so without stealing it from others first.
Neither was powerful enough to create a world that did not need a was assortment of ignored, innocent victims which would never be invited or included in the club, only used to fund it against their will

Right, but Jesus said that when he said, "ye are gods!".

However, Jesus being the First born, is closest to the Father from which all came, and why he shared the Fathers love for his creation, and demonstrated it by laying down his life to it.

If you are close to that kind of love, you will understand.

What IS worth dying for?

The people God disciplines are those he loves. Do you not discipline your own child to keep them on the path or do they run amok?

Wrath is what God brought on evil nations. The nation's destroyed were truly evil.
 Quoting: Achduke7

A parent/creator guides his child/ creation through challanges.
He does not dextroy them for their mistakes.

Thats how you can tell the ot and nt gods are not the same

A creator doesnt create so that it can destroy..

A destroyer seeks every and any excuse TO DESTROY WHAT A CREATOR HAS CREATED.

You need to know who and what it is you chose to worship because even an evil entity will declare itself as the only god to its intended victims
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75663049

God will not destroy his children, only guide them. The people destroyed in the OT were not his children. They were the children of the enemy.
 Quoting: Achduke7

So say those busy judging them, killing them and helping themselves to their property to enrich themselves.
How is that ant different from organized criminals?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75663049

The people who were destroyed were sacrificing and burning their children. They were purposely starving people that stayed in their towns after inviting them. They were raping their guests both men and women. Does not sound like good people that just needed some guidance.

Re: I never thought I'd understand why God was so Brutal in the Old Testament
The God of the Old Testament was created by mankind in mankind's own image. So why wouldn't that imaginary God have all of the harsh and unforgiving qualities of humans?

In the next go around, Jesus was created the God of love and forgiveness--he was a real man, and a good man, but not a God. He exhibited all of mankind's best qualities.

No need to blame or laud a God for any of this.

The ot god is an imperfect god that ignores most of his crestion yet indulges a small group which he grants the indulgence of not having to follow any rules.

Makes sense,

to a fool, maybe or a criminal..

What god makes rules for some and none for others?

Not a creator, not one that's just.

Indeed a crime boss dreamed up by criminals needing an excuse.
No wonder they'd kill anyone, even one of their own who pointed it out in public.

After Armageddon --- Jesus rules on earth with His saints for 1000 peaceful, lawful years to fulfill the covenant with Israel. After Satan is loosed again, he is permanently destroyed and then our Creator sets up a new heaven and a new earth. A whole new gig!!! Read Revelation 17 onward....
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73462477

Revelation is bullsht.
What Jesus said is Christianity.

What someone else says Jesus forgot to mention is not.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75663049

Okey Dokey...

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

(Joel 2:28-32; John 16:5-16; Acts 2:1-13; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 19:1-7)

15If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 21He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. 22Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

25These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. 26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Now, sell all that you possess and give the proceeds to the poor and you will have treasures in heaven, THEN come follow me.

Re: I never thought I'd understand why God was so Brutal in the Old Testament
As a former Christian, I always railed on how could God be so harsh and unforgiving. All the death and destruction because people wouldn't follow a couple rules. I felt it was overkill and frankly, unloving.

Now, decades later, I see you.

Arrogant, stupid, hypocritical, cowardly, apathetic, foolish, greedy, I could type hundreds of words in here.

You bow to evil, you worship yourselves, you waddle in your arrogance, the vast majority of humans are Vile and Dangerous beasts.

You only believe what you want to. No matter what evidence is brought before you, even if you SEE IT. You chose to go towards the path of least resistance, or become hard headed over nothing.

I see why smacking the fuck out of you all is the answer. I do.

If God talked to everyone in their heads at once, you'd blame whatever was convenient. It was Tech, imagination, Aliens, the Devil, literally anything. If God stopped time, and talked to you all individually, same result.

There is no getting "through" to you. If Jesus was walking the streets most of you would try to kill him, Yep, ESPECIALLY Christians!!!!! "It's the Anti-Christ!" As soon as he said things you didn't like, it would be looking for a Cross time again.

Serious. You fucks cannot learn, or think. You let Evil trample the creation. You lie to everyone, even yourselves. It's disgusting.

If I was God....

I'd Smite the Fuck out of so many of you. You wouldn't be able to lie to me, like you lie to yourselves and everyone else.

Sadly, I don't believe in your version, or any humans version, of God. Nobody coming to save you. I guess we'll all see in the end of life review?
