Not really, basically as soon as he loses his seat they have to have a bielection, then he just reruns for his seat and he has no competition so he gets straight back in anyway.

and the deep state probably isn't going to let his past decisions get questions, unless they really really really want a carbon tax or something, but it looks like they want Labor in, not with a big majority though so they keep Shorten in as leader, they don't want any party getting too much power.
