The reason for the immense ambiguity surrounding the WW2 time period, is due to the entire period being steeped in dishonesty.

When I say 'steeped in dishonesty' I really mean proportional to those who lived in that day. The post-WW2 era entailing Vietnam and other 'situations', was extremely dishonest too, and of course, what's going on today is equally dishonest. However, I don't think there was ever a more dishonest period of human history, than the WW2 era.

Can you give some specifics OP? There were a lot of politics involved, and egos to mesh, but what was accomplished, as it relates to turning a peacetime, failing economy into a wartime juggernaut, in a short period of time was pretty incredible.
