Another time as I drove I saw a man whom appeared "radiant" standing in the rain holding a sign which read 'Homeless, Please Help." I had to turn around to return to him, keeping him always in view. Pulling up to him this time on his side of the road I reached in my pocket and gave him all that I had, two dollars and change. He smiled and said "I knew the country boy from the MidWest would help." I drove off, as I looked in the mirror I saw, or more correctly didn't see him there any more--he had vanished and there was no where he could have walked out of my sight as I had only driven about ten feet from him at that time. A few years ago I was in dark times within my mind and trying to have freedom and peace and I was walking to work and a leaf fell and brushed my eyes and I was kinda annoyed so I cussed at the leaf and I noticed it fall to the ground and land on something . I picked up what it landed on and it was a prayer card that said “Jesus is near”. |
