Yes that is right. September 23, 2017. Is this the 'birth' we waited for? Please say no. Quoting: A Friend [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] I'm not sure on this video... just watching it now. Now Sophia has more rights than women in Saudi Arabia. Did you know that Sophia is ONE as a citizen in a newly created land? I'll try to find the link. I'm not following what you mean. From the link to the thread I provided. But it’s here that Saudi Arabia’s crown prince plans Neom, a city from scratch that will be bigger than Dubai and have more robots than humans. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman envisions it as a “civilizational leap for humanity” outside the traditional Saudi constraints and a business hub with advanced manufacturing, bio-tech, media and airlines. “We want the main robot and the first robot in Neom to be Neom, robot number one,” the crown prince said in an interview in a palatial setting next to the Ritz Carlton in Riyadh. “Everything will have a link with artificial intelligence, with the Internet of Things—everything.” ---- Sophia will be connected to EVERYTHING. |

We really are just sheep! :sheep1: IoT = Internet of Things From wiki (less than 50%): The Internet of things (IoT) is the network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity which enable these objects to connect and exchange data.[1][2][3] Each thing is uniquely identifiable through its embedded computing system but is able to inter-operate within the existing Internet infrastructure. Experts estimate that the IoT will consist of about 30 billion objects by 2020.[4] The IoT allows objects to be sensed or controlled remotely across existing network infrastructure,[5] creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems, and resulting in improved efficiency, accuracy and economic benefit in addition to reduced human intervention.[6][7][8][9] When IoT is augmented with sensors and actuators, the technology becomes an instance of the more general class of cyber-physical systems, which also encompasses technologies such as smart grids, virtual power plants, smart homes, intelligent transportation and smart cities. "Things", in the IoT sense, can refer to a wide variety of devices such as heart monitoring implants, biochip transponders on farm animals, cameras streaming live feeds of wild animals in coastal waters,[10] automobiles with built-in sensors, DNA analysis devices for environmental/food/pathogen monitoring,[11] or field operation devices that assist firefighters in search and rescue operations.[12] Legal scholars suggest regarding "things" as an "inextricable mixture of hardware, software, data and service".[13] These devices collect useful data with the help of various existing technologies and then autonomously flow the data between other devices.[14] The term "the Internet of things" was coined by Kevin Ashton of Procter & Gamble, later MIT's Auto-ID Center, in 1999.[15] |

What is the Internet of Things? A term frequently tossed around in tech journals and conferences, the Internet of Things (IoT) is not exactly a product or service, but rather a movement. It’s a trend that became popular in the last decade for creating products — even everyday ones — that are all interconnected with the internet. It is just like those who gave their DNA for ancestry information. ALL that DNA information is obtainable by those who have a warrant or a good reason to check it. Even if you did not donate DNA, if a relative did, any relative--they can pull that relative's record to find markers in DNA to find out about you. So, imo, I would not play with anything trying to mimic. ALTHOUGH, we do so anyway on the internet (likes, dislikes, forums, shopping choice). Why add to their data mining? |

Quoting: A Friend They have no idea what this extra bandwidth or network will do to humans. None. They also don't care. They think that innovation and progress should outpace "committees" to study the health implications. Technology has made some humans mad. But I think, Imo, those who run-the-show are guaranteed more than a long "human" life. They see immortality in something like a Sophia. She is their "mother", in many ways. Your comment made me think of consciousness transferring. So I found this article. So how do you go about transferring someone's consciousness to another robot body? As Humai explains on their website (which comes complete with new-age backing music): "We’re using artificial intelligence and nanotechnology to store data of conversational styles, behavioural patterns, thought processes and information about how your body functions from the inside-out. This data will be coded into multiple sensor technologies, which will be built into an artificial body with the brain of a deceased human. Using cloning technology, we will restore the brain as it matures." [link to www.sciencealert.com (secure)] This is insane. On a smaller scale, have you heard of Replika? It is supposed to become you through asking you questions and learning about you. You can get it on your phone for free now. I installed it last night. I want to get to know this stuff from the bottom up, even though I'm late to the party. Personally, I would not play with any app or device doing what you say this one does. I feel like I don't want anymore surprises. I want to learn about this face to face. ' We'll see.
