Quoting: Deplorable QuantumLove From now on no more stairs for her as its just too dangerous If I want her to sleep at the foot of my bed I'll carry her. it scared the living s*** out of me but I'm so grateful thankful and lucky that she was not injured at all Praise the Lord! My dogs are old too. I sleep on the couch now so they don't try and climb upstairs and get hurt. It's a drag, but it's just better for now. Even if I gate the stairs off, they will still scratch and whine to come upstairs. My dogs are 160 pounds, so no carrying them up and down for me. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 73191101 ![]() 11/27/2017 05:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We bought anti-slip carpet runners for our steps for our older dogs, made all the difference in the world. Old dogs pads get slick and are real prone to slipping on wood stairs. We got them at our Lowe's but for some reason our store quit carrying them. Probably were selling too good. Our Lowe's has morans running it ,hate that store. |

I rescued both of them when they were old, had health problems, and were abandoned by their heartless owners. I have no stairs, but lift them off and on to the bed. I take them for rides in the car, and let them lay in the sun. They don't ask for much. One is blind and deaf, but still plays. The dogs I have now will be my last unless something changes income wise. But they deserve to be loved for the few years they have left, and not be dumped at a shelter to die. |

Bar~none User ID: 70890511 ![]() 11/27/2017 05:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sounds crazy but it works, we did this to keep our 9 year old beagle out of the main living area if she comes in with wet or dirty feet. She found out a couple of weeks ago that time is catching up with her too, the cat was on the porch and the beagle came out of the house on a tear. About twenty feet into the chase she hit the brakes and came up lame, I couldn't help but laugh at first. Now she has quit chasing the cat, she pulled something. In Vino Veritas |
