Is there any way to get rid of email spam?
I've had the same email address for 20 years or so.

During this time, I either signed up on some stupid website or did something stupid, I can't remember.

Perhaps Hotmail got hacked at some point.

Anyway, I get close to 40 spam messages a day and I am finally growing tired of this.

Is there some kind of method to remove my account from all of these unnecessary notices on crap that I will never read?

Inside each spam mail, there should be an option to unsubscribe.
Usually right at the bottom in a smaller font.

BS. As long as your OS and browser are up to date, and you have a decent antivirus, it's perfectly safe to open spam messages. Just don't download any attachments and you're good.

Also the "unsubscribe" option actually does work. I was once receiving several spam messages per day, and they all went away immediately when I unsubscribed from all of them. There's always an "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the message.

Uh. That is a good way to get a computer virus or even more on the phone than already have.OP should go directly to the sites if he recalls them to opt out.If not just remember that is why it is called spam and just delete without opening it.Hell.I opted out of junk mail/pre screened credit offers' at my physical address, and opted out of telemarket calls on my land line.I still get ALL that bullshit. It gets irritating.I always scan down the spam in my email because at times what is not spam will be there.I always answer calls even if PRIVATE or Anonymous Caller because it could be some one who needs me OR? Someone I needed.

The absolute best way is to get a new email address. Itís a pain in the ass to go back three years In your deleted box and choose who to contact with your new address but well worth the hassle. Iíve done it.
There will be a time in the not so distant future when they will hunt Liberals with DOGS.

Democrats vote for what benefits them while Republicans vote for what benefits the country.

Yeah, I think that is the best way.

Many years ago i tracked a person down by using keywords and looked for patterns in the emails. Found the person on a domain name forum, mainly people with domain names like pbj-sandals123.com, so posted in the forum about the porn he was sending me which was not that bad but I exaggerated in the forum thread he posted in. The spam did stop.

Turned out i submitted the email on what i thought was a legitimate non-porn forum. This was so many years ago but yeah it is a pain.

Not to mention that these people are usually mentally ill so does not make sense to go through any trouble when in a few good hours you can change an email and even weed out those you never read anyway.

Thats only idea i have.
