But he told CNN that publisher Allen & Unwin suddenly informed him last week that it would be delaying the book for an unspecified period after being warned it could face legal action by China. Melbourne is a classic example with a 70% Chinese population. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75904511 Hellow When I drove through some regional towns in Victoria..some of them had an 80% Chinese or Vietnamese population... I had never seen anything like that I Australia and never thought that something like that could exist. I am talking about towns with 1000-5000 residents Do you know anything about it |

Melbourne is a classic example with a 70% Chinese population. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75904511 I think your math is off. Melbourne has a population of almost 5 million, and the entire Chinese population in Australia is 1 million. That's true but if you are talking about the whole of Melbourne. However the CBD and close near by suburbs are very Chinese Most of the Non Chinese live in the outer suburbs because they are poor but in the inner Suburbs you sometimes get over 50% Chinese people so that poster who said that 70% of Melbourne are Chinese is not too far off when you consider just the inner suburbs |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 75925833 ![]() 11/30/2017 10:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Chinese investment in Australia rose from $6.2 billion (in 2007) to $87.2 billion (in 2016) America's total investment in Australia was at an already-high $433 billion in 2006. In the last 10 years, the US investment doubled to $861 billion, which is certainly slower than China's fourteen-fold boom in the same period. But when comparing the total value of investments in 2016, the US figure is 10 times higher than China's ($87.2 billion). "While the growth in Chinese investment has been significant, it pales in comparison to investment flows from other countries," said CBM's managing director CT Johnson. After the US, the next biggest Australian investors were the UK, Belgium, Hong Kong and Singapore, then China. [link to www.abc.net.au] |

Such a shame really. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75466638 Silly Yank thinking every problem is solved with the use of force. Another good example to why there should be no US troops based in Australia and why we need to question all the US investments in Australia. |
