Why do colleges even HAVE women's basketball, except to placate their feminist professors, or to comply with "Title IX". ( do they still have that )?

Also, the whole idea of a WNBA makes me cringe, because there are thousands of better MALE basketball players who never get to make a career out of it, but inferior players who HAPPEN TO BE FEMALE ( barely )are "professionals".
