I disagree with him. Poverty does have a lot to do with a persons outlook on life. It's very hard to survive in this day and age if you can't grow your own food and live by candlelight. I'd say it has to do with level of education and support.

The spate of youth murders is in my opinion linked to drug, gang and popular culture (of which urban or black culture plays a prominent role now)

One of the youths killed lived and died on my street.

How could someone aged 15-16 have a street name and reputation?

He was know in the neighbourhood for "doing his own little thing"

The youths have little guidance, no good role models and are raised by popular culture and the violence they are exposed to.
