This Map Shows the Largest Employer in Every State

I'm sure walmart is huge. But saying Alaska biggest employer is health care is total bs, so I assume it's all bs. AK = natural resources aka fishing, logging ect. And if you say its the lowest wadge paid, then that tells you something. Although there is a shit ton of native alaskan benefits so maybe that comes into play, but thats all run but natives for natives. aka if your white/black/yellow/brown your shit out of luck for a job.

This map actually tells a lot. Walmart...Universities...Healthcare.

Now we need the same map for every 5 years for the past 50.
Might surprise you to know that the main reason walmart wins is because its all walmart from cart pushers to IT to management to execs. One unit from top to bottom, not a bunch of outsoursed jobs occupying the same building answering to a central management.

Now let's see the highest paid individual in each state and the company with the most profit, both in dollars and as a percentage of revenue.

Before walmart, small businesses employed people......and people were self employed owning and operating those small businesses too.

I don't think walmart has been good for our country.

Walmart has been terrible, their owners make tens of billions instead of hundreds of thousands of small business owners making a few hundred thousand to a few million and keeping it in their community.

Ideally the best economic tax law would scale to employers who make over x amount of profit. If you profit for example $1 billion annually then your minimum wage should go up "x" percent and scale as your profits rise. For a company to be able to sell almost half a trillion in product per year and pay its employees pennies is total bullshit. No one can even compete with them, they just move into town do their low price deals until they bankrupt the established business that's there then they raise their prices back to what the original established business had it at. End of the day the owners lose, managers get paid less and employees get paid next to nothing

There are predictions that eventually corporations such as Walmart, Google, Microsoft, etc.. will outright own entire countries, on account of their gross income being much larger than any country, and so they can easily buy their way to getting whatever politics they want into place and thereby split the planet up between themselves, initiating wars when they are in economic competition with each other, having their own currencies (crypto comes close!), etc.

I used to work at Walmart warehouse, pays good then I spent most of money at Walmart.

Walmart is simultaneously giving people jobs and keeping them shopping at their stores. Not many companies can say that.

The federal government is the largest employer in Washington DC. That's not on the map.

I think if you look at this realistically you could summarize that the federal gov, State Gov, Cities and Towns as well as the Military are the largest employers in many states. Way more than Walmart.


And if you look into it further you will realize in some states the subsidized EBT payouts top more than the GDP of the state and wages lost by honestly employed individuals.
