So let's say it's sub zero temperature and suddenly your power goes out! And possibly it's out for days or longer! And for worst case scenerio lets add: you got no tap water (because the pumps dont work), no household LPG (because the pumps dont work), Shops close as the tills don't work, A curfew is introduced to reduce theft
What can Average Joe do to prepare for this on a budget?
The obvious is: water storage and purification, food storage, Blankets, A woodburning stove, hunting gear, solar panel and battery, toilet paper (never under-estimate) wind up radio/torch
Please contribute useful tips only as it just might be relevant!!!
Quoting: Justin Case 71919690 Some things that help when power is out and it is below 0.. Hotshot foot and hand warmers, dry shampoo, big tubs of Cristco can be used as a long lasting candle as well as for cooking. Having a portable loo and kitty litter is handy. When power is out and water is no longer running, you need some where to go.. Lots of paper plates and tin foil. Have a shit load more wood for burning, as you will go through lots trying to keep your home warm enough to not let your pipes burst... Camp stove to make quick cups of coffee/soup ect. Lots of candles and flashlights.. Using solar lights from outside work great for indoor lighting.. Quoting: CrazyMama73 Good info thanks! :)
