When I would be way too cold I would hold a short candle under the covers in a coffee can with vents cut in and a rack on top to prevent the covers from falling in and burning. You do not want to sleep with it. I would also heat empty heavy pans over the candles and put on my cold feet and hands. I would also heat water for hot water bottles. \
