So, I messaged the guy on Facebook. Hr accepted and replied super quick.

Told him not to freak out but I have some odd questions.

Long story short. This is legit.

He asked to video call (which I didn't want to do because I don't like being face to face like that) but I answered and the guy literally is fucking younger and not half as skinny as he is in the video. He looks like a pretty normal dude, almost got a Uri Gellar face now I've seen him face to face.

He freaked a little as he's skipping through the video while we're talking and wondered where his wife and kid were.

We chatted for like 10 minutes more and he had no clue where the house was because that's not his house. I got a small tour while we were video chatting and his house is damn nice compared to the one in the video.

He had no idea how the video got uploaded.

Oh and he knows his shit when it comes to tech, I work in repairs and I could tell from the terminology whilst he was commenting on skimming through the video.

Also, finally. He seemed as sane as anybody else I've ever met.

Said he'd message me again today but I'm going to leave him alone for now as it must be heartbreaking if legit and he seemed so fucking genuine to me.

First time anything has ever lead down a real rabbit hole for me.

As a recap for those who may not have watched the entire video, He does not want to do the video.
He is doing it for the someone who does these who is sick.
It is an update for a hand full of people over the hill in what is probably the next valley. They either walk there or ride bikes. So due to distance they do a once every 3 month trip and drop of stuff and information.
In the context of what's happening there is no us stock market. The east coast is Russian controlled. Central west coat is Chinese controlled. Southern California and all parts north of central California and most of the center of the country, well, almost everyone is dead. There is no power grid.
This guy was doing a crappy version of the update for his present not ours. The last experiment this the device in the warehouse is apparently how this got sent. They were going to send audio, video, and telemetry to se if it retransmitted on a different frequency.

Not that I believe any of it. It makes more sense as a story if you take the time to listen to the whole thing.

Thank you to AC754 for the recap of this situation. The poster you replied to obviously has no idea what’s going on or why the video was made. The guy had no reason to mention any present day info for us. The video wasn’t made for us to watch. It is exactly like you said. Hopefully it’s not real and things will be ok and hopefully we will hear more about this from the poster who reached out to him.
I find it quite humorous that we are on a conspiracy website discussing events with out of the box thinking, yet so many on here quickly
dismiss much of it. Why come then?

Strange shit.

The east gets regular, dependable rain and does not need irrigation.

The growing season is quite long enough to be useful.

The sort of details he's discussing would be helpful in a post-disaster scenario...like how to put audio modulation onto a shared 12 volt power connection....and even discusses why coupling the audio in capacitively is better than inductively, which would waste power. And that they had tried real telephones, which didn't work as well.

A lot goes unsaid, because the intended recipients don't need to be told the overview...he says AM broadcast signals are useful and HF (shortwave) would be ideal....all factual details that most people today can't fathom, but in a post-disaster situation is all true.

If he lost his family, he doesn't need to go into that, surely the recipients have lost many people, too.

The hardware stores have been emptied out, and they are looking to scrounge from industrial sites.

The details he goes into about distracting the roving idiots....servo motor platters (unpowered except by self motion) to make it look like a flashlight is being held by a person, random noise generators, remote microphones, these are survival hacks worth sharing, and he shares them in as few words as possible.

I don't think he's reading anything, it really does seem like a message sent between survivors as helpful news.

The "device built into the wall" with many insulators that seems to create an RF "whorl" that eats sound and RF...I wish he'd speculated more on that. The idea it shifts frequency may mean that in doing so it also shifts temporal reference and could throw modulation in we call "time".

If a hoax, it is pretty damn believable because of these details that are useless to a movie audience in our present, who would not understand most of what he's talking about, but very useful to others in the same situation.

I'd like to say it's just a hoax, but too much of it is real, hard advice to other survivors that "movie people" would never bother with. I suppose he made the tape on a VHS, and ran the tape broadcasting on CH 3 or 4, near the device built into the wall.

This device must already exist if the transmission is only 16 months out.

I think the guy is an electronics junky who also wrote a post-apocalyptic novel on his home computer. Instead of dressing up like Captain Kirk and going to a convention, he's the type of geek that wants to share his story through theater. Kind of like homemade Blair Witch. He's acting out the role of the hero of his story.
