Where is the "L" in "Feliz Navidad"?
One of the Christmas songs blasted to death is Jose Feliciano's "Feliz Navidad". But I don't understand his pronunciation - especially considering he is a Spanish speaker.

Listen closely to what he says. Instead of "nav-i-DAD" he is saying "nav-i-LAH". He does it three out of four times in the song.

What gives?

Spanish is a very rich language, with many different accents, some vowels and consonants are pronounced radically different depending on the culture.

Wow! So that's how you spell it!

All these years I thought the bean eater was saying "Fleas on my Nads!"

It happens to english as well, actually any language spoken in more than one place is gonna be different when compared. Look Irish english and australian english for example.
