Perth couple bought and are restoring a crumbling but breathtakingly beautiful French Chateau; friends welcome.

The couple describes their real estate search in France as accidental. Their daughter went to France on a school trip, and they shadowed her via the internet; popping up frequently were French real estate advertisements.

The couple were captivated by the decadent but crumbling properties tucked away in rural valleys and villages in little traveled portions of France.
They mainly wanted a closer look inside but then fell in love with one Chateau built in the time of Louis XV, a fairytale looking place named Chateau de Gudanes.

For 280,000 pounds it was theirs, and they began restoration even though they were not architects or builders.

The story is very charming, many people worldwide have flown there to help them restore various aspects, the whole project is quite the labor of love. It appears it may take them the rest of their life to accomplish the restoration. Their project and successes so far are documented on a blog and YouTube,
