Americans today have the bad habit of deluding themselves that unconstitutional laws only affect people they don't like and they'll vote against their own interests every time just in the hope of making other people suffer. Too many stupid peasants in this country, and without the famines and epidemics that kept their populations in check centuries ago.

I haven't reviewed this recently but the rule used to be that if you had wild canninia or some other illegal plant growing on your property and ANYONE intended to harvest it for any illegal use, the whole parcel of land was IMMDIaTeLY forfeited.

Again, if you have a ten thousand acre ranch and on one corner of the ranch cannibis grows wild, you don't have a problem yet.

The minute ANYONE INTENDS to harvest that wild pot (or peyote or whatever) for illegal purpose, your LAND is guilty and at they moment HAS BEEN forfeited to the government.

THINK. It becomes your duty to either prevent what someone might intend to illegally harvest from growing or prevent them from intending to use it (by keeping them off your property because they cannot intend to use what they cannot see or know about or access.

You need BIG FENCES to prevent passersby from intending to harvest your weeds

Asset forfeiture is a violation of the due process clause of the fourth amendment. It is legalized theft and armed robbery at gunpoint

Any REAL conservative would have to totally reject any possibility of taking an American citizens property or money without any cause or due process of law, and only after conviction of drug trafficking or money laundering.. If you are stopped carrying over a few thousand dollars cash the police will rob you, and there is NOTHING you can do about it. They have electronics which can sense the presence of large amounts of cash,and they have dogs trained to hit on the residue of drugs on all American money. They might even auction off your car if they feel like it, just pull you over and tow it to the impound yard as an asset forfeiture, no reason need be given.
