There are couples who choose to get married before a Justice of the Peace for very practical reasons including to ensure their baby is legitimate, because either one will be shipping out for military service and/or they don't have time or finances for a church wedding, eloping and being married in a Civil Ceremony makes more sense than a church ceremony if hospitalized family members cannot attend. So many couples who do go the budget friendly Civil Ceremony route later have a large church wedding perhaps close to the bride's hometown. |
