Catholics don't worship Mary, they have a tremendous amount of admiration and RESPECT for her in being the mother of Jesus.

Statues are a visual aid only , they are NOT worshiped ,they only bring to mind a particular saint when one is asking the saint to intercede in our behalf with God. As I see it the saints have graduated and we who are alive are students only.
