I'm out on the First Front and measured 7 1/2 inches of super wet/heavy snow this AM ... it rained (lightly) for about three hours before it turned to snow ... so probably the first inch of snow melted - My daughter lives in Monument (I25 corridor) and she got a foot of snow what make it great is that there was hardly any wind (no drifting) and it's not all that cold (barely freezing at 33) so it's pretty safe to drive ... traffic will clear the roads by noon I was really scared that my fields would not "green up" and that I would run out of Winter hay before there was any grass for my critters to eat - but this storm will save them (and me) and there is more moisture in the forecast for Sunday and Wednesday !! of the 11 years I have live here, there was only one Summer when I had to buy hay - and with the prices today, that would really bust my budget - if I had to buy it this year - so I couldn't be happier |
