Thousands of people across the Atlantic region are without power after a windstorm swept across Eastern Canada on Saturday. Winds over 110 km/h hour knocked out power to 92,000 households in New Brunswick. More than 18,000 customers in Nova Scotia and 3,000 in Prince Edward Island were without power early Sunday. More than 200 Nova Scotia Power staff are working across the province to assess the damage, said spokesperson Tiffany Chase. ...

Roads became rivers in Melbourne on Tuesday, November 6, when over a month's worth of rain fell in the space of a few hours. Bureau of Meteorology recorded 35 mm of rain in the Melbourne city gauge between 9 am and noon, which they said was more rain than the September and October record combined.

Thunderstorms were forecast for much of Victoria throughout the day. Punters at the Melbourne Cup faced disruption when roads around the racecourse flooded and the railway station closed due to flooding. ...

The culprit is a strong area of Canadian Arctic high pressure -- typical winter pattern -- but a bit early in mid-November. Record cold possible.

Several landslides and flooding have been reported as heavy rains lashed Dominica from Thursday into Friday. There is a report of a major landslide on the Bellevue Chopin road, which links a great part of the southern section of the island. On Thursday, a bridge, the Pointe Rounde Bridge, which connects the northern part of Dominica to the rest of the island, was compromised and traffic had to be diverted. ...

Flash Flood in United Kingdom on November 09 2018 05:06 PM (UTC).

Homes and roads have been flooded and people have been urged to move their vehicles away from rivers as more heavy rain is set to raise water levels. Parts of Pembrokeshire have been badly hit with some homes in Milford Haven under 10ft (3m) of water. A Met Office warning to expect flooding is in force across the county and Carmarthenshire until 23:00 GMT and high tide are at 19:00. Other parts of south and mid-Wales are also at risk of flooding.

Pembrokeshire council said "a number of roads" were flooded and were being dealt with on a "priority basis" while Carmarthenshire council has warned residents and businesses in the St Clears area to be "particularly prepared". Natural Resources Wales said with heavy rain forecast to fall on the already saturated ground, localized flooding and travel disruption could be expected...

The amber warning for heavy rain and wind is in place until 23:00, while a yellow warning covers the remainder of south Wales until midnight. Up to 50mm (1.97in) of rain could fall on higher ground, with wind speeds of up to 60mph (95km/h) along with some coasts....

This comes just four weeks after Storm Callum caused flooding across south Wales, with several areas badly affected by high winds and heavy rain.

Winds of up to 70mph and heavy rain are set to batter the Devon and Cornwall coast during Thursday evening. Trains have been canceled between Exeter and Newton Abbot with lane closures planned for the Tamar Bridge in Plymouth. Roads have been flooded across Plymouth as rain continues to fall during Tuesday. Howling 70mph winds, rainstorms and flooding will endanger lives, weather watchers Southwest Storm Chasers have warned. The 'severe weather' has forced CrossCountry to cancel all services from Exeter to Newton Abbot between 4.30pm and 9.30pm this evening. ...
