BigD it sounds like you have a lot of snow where you are. They are expecting about 6 to 12 inches in the mountains at 5000feet and up here tonight and then there is another storm on Sunday! Right now the highway patrol is pacing cars on Interstate 5 south to LA.

SR-2 Angeles Crest Hwy is closed just east of Mt Wilson Rd to just west of Upper Big Tujunga Rd due to rock slide. To bypass this closure take Angeles Forest Hwy to Upper Big Tujunga Rd to SR-2. But SR-2 is closed again from Kratka Ridge to Islip Saddle due to snow

And Vegas had just gotten snow about a week ago. Very rare for it to snow in Vegas at all let alone twice in a week.

Traveling today is still not advised. City Snow Removal teams are out, but it’s very difficult to keep up with this much snow. Coming up the hill is taking hours longer than normal. If you’re going to go, check road conditions @CaltransDist3 (Caltrans District 3) before you do.

As has been advertised for several days now, a widespread flooding event will likely unfold in the coming days across the eastern U.S. To give you an idea of how widespread this event will be, nearly the entire state of Tennessee is expected to receive at least 5-7 inches of rain. Rain and hailstorm across many parts of the country have been wreaking havoc, and the worst sufferers are the currently sowed crops. North and central parts of India have seen immense crop damage in the past few days. Now, as the rain belt also covered the northeastern regions of the country, the crop damage saga continues.

Yesterday, rain along with along with hailstorm activities have caused damage to vast areas furthermore damaging crops in Assam. Areas of Dirak and Kakopathar areas were the ones that suffered the most amount of damage with several acres of tea as well as mustard plantations being on top of the list....

Volcano Eruption in Reunion on February 18 2019 09:47 AM (UTC).


"A new eruption has begun at the volcano this morning. At 09:48, the volcano observatory recorded the onset of typical eruption tremor and announced the eruption which seems to take place from new fissures on the NNE flank of Dolomieu crater in the central part of the Enclos. The eruption came as expected: a seismic crisis had started two days earlier (on 16 Feb), indicating that magma had started to rise towards the surface (generating new paths on its was means breaking rocks, causing small earthquakes).

Alongside the seismic crisis, instruments had measured rapid deformation (swelling) and increased emissions of CO2 gas of magmatic origin, all of which led to the conclusion that a new eruption was about to start soon. ..."
