The roads were flooded or covered by several centimeters of hail in a wave of bad weather that hit the Southern Italian region of Puglia in the past 48 hours. The extraordinary rain and hail have flooded the countryside and destroyed crops, bringing local agriculture to its knees and creating several traffic disruptions. ...

Queensland snowfall: Icy weather brings warnings in Australia

"Australia's Bureau of Meteorology described it as a "rare" sight, noting the state had not experienced significant snowfall since 2015.

Severe weather warnings have also been issued for a 1,000km (620 miles) stretch of coast which includes Sydney."

Heavy rains coupled with sudden hailstorm on Monday evening damaged maize crop, vegetables, and fruit in different parts of Nalthi Panchayat in additional district Bhadarwah. In Nalthi Panchayat, 7 kilometers southeast of Bhadarwah town, half a dozen villages including Kholra, Nalthi, Swong Pura, Kach, Basti and its adjoining villages in Athkhar area of Additional District Bhadarwah suffered heavy damage to the crops. Hailstorm also hit fruit orchards and vegetable fields. "The hailstorm continued for about 39 to 40 minutes in many areas and damaged standing maize, fruit and vegetables crop completely,...

Nuclear Event in China on June 04 2019 03:34 AM (UTC).

The Unitary Police Service (SPU) revealed that the Guangdong Provincial Nuclear Emergency Management Commission informed them that the Taishan nuclear power plant had a recent operational incident. Last week both reactors of the Taishan nuclear power plant - located at about 70 kilometers from Macau and 130 kilometers from Hong Kong - became operational for the first time.

According to SPU, the Commission stated that on June 1 during a maintenance operation on unit 5 of the nuclear power plant, an anomaly occurred in the control mode of the steam turbine bypass system adjustment valve while the plant's operational staff performed a test....

The 1861-62 California flood it rained 35 inches years end over 50 inches. All of the cattle ranches were destroyed in the central valley. After the massive 61-62 flood a drought of four yeas it rained only four inches.

How catastrophic flooding could change the course of the Mississippi River

"Gov. John Bel Edwards has requested a federal emergency declaration as the Mississippi River and other waterways continue to swell. However, Sosnowski doesn't think these floods will be too much to handle for the structures unless heavy rain from a tropical disturbance were to become involved over the next few weeks."

Flood in Malaysia on June 06 2019 04:46 AM (UTC).

Widespread floods have inundated numerous settlements in northern and central Sarawak, following heavy rain over the past 24 hours. Long Busang village in the vicinity of Bakun Dam in central Sarawak is completely submerged in about three metres of water.

At least 1,000 villagers have been evacuated to higher grounds. In the Baram district in northern Sarawak, at least 10 different populated settlements, plus a government clinic and two schools are also flooded. Heavy downpours since two days ago have seen river tributaries overflowing their banks....

Landslide in Uganda on June 05 2019 02:42 PM (UTC).

At least five people have been confirmed dead following fresh landslides in Bududa district. More than 50 others are reported missing since the landslide that came with a heavy downpour on Tuesday evening.

Reports indicate that the rains started yesterday at around 8:30pm, mostly affecting the areas of Bunamwamba North, Bunamwamba Main and, Bunamwamba South in Buwaali sub-county. About 150 houses were reportedly razed by the landslides, according to the Uganda Red Cross Society. ...
