Forest / Wild Fire in Canada on June 28 2019 03:22 PM (UTC).

The Hunker Summit fire in the Yukon has grown to 850 hectares, and is showing extreme fire behavior because of "unfavourable forest fuels and hot and dry weather." A wildfire near Dawson City, Yukon grew to 400 hectares on Wednesday, the same day it was discovered. Lightning sparked the blaze, which is known as the Hunker Summit wildfire, and it's only expected to grow further, the territory's Protective Services tweeted....

...

Meanwhile, the Toobally Lakes fire has burned to a size of over 14,000 hectares, and it's not considered under control. Like Hunker Summit, that fire is not responding very strongly to suppression efforts.

One of the challenges in getting this message across is that the cause of this seemingly complex disastrous weather is so deceptively simple that most people's eyes glaze right over the solution when they see it.

Peruvian scientists are registering from 100 to 120 seismic events per day in the volcano of Ubinas, which is a sign of increasing eruptive activity of the volcano, Hernando Tavera, executive president of Peru's Geophysical Institute (IGP), told Sputnik.

Last week, IGP warned about intensified eruptive activity of the Ubinas volcano and issued a recommendation for local authorities to raise the alert level over a possible eruption. Drought in Lithuania on July 03 2019 05:12 PM (UTC).

Lithuania declared an emergency on Wednesday as a severe drought hit the Baltic EU state, threatening to slash this year's harvest by up to half. Apart from jeopardizing crops, scant rainfall has also drastically reduced water levels in some rivers, threatening fish stocks and shipping activities. ...

...

Over the last week, firefighters have fought wildfires triggered by the heat in peat bogs in western Lithuania and neighboring Latvia. Elsewhere in Central Europe, Polish authorities said this week that varying degrees of drought have put grain crops at risk in 14 of the EU country's 16 regional districts. The Czech Academy of Sciences said it expects the drought to affect the entire country, with 80 percent of the territory facing "exceptional to extreme drought". ...

Situation Update No. 5 on July 04 2019 06:40 AM (UTC)

More than one million people in Japan have been ordered to leave their homes amid warnings of landslides and floods. Residents of the island of Kyushu were told to 'take steps to protect their lives' due to the heavy rain in the area. One elderly woman in Kagoshima city died after a mudslide hit her home.

The entire populations of Kagoshima city, Kirishima and Aira were ordered to leave, while another 930,000 people in the south of the island were also advised to evacuate. One woman in an evacuation center told NKH: 'I live alone next to a river, and it's scary to think of water rising', while another described the volume of rain as 'terrible'.

According to weather officials, 1,000mm (39in) of rain has fallen on the island since Friday. The bad weather is also expected to continue into the next week, ...

Forest / Wild Fire in Greece on July 05 2019 01:17 PM (UTC)

Two new brush fires broke out overnight on the Greek island of Evia, forcing the evacuation of four villages, authorities said Friday. The new wildfires came several hours after a major blaze led to the mobilization of more than 100 firefighters and the evacuation of another village. Firefighters managed to limit the spread of the initial fire, which was burning woodland and agricultural areas, but difficult terrain and high temperatures hampered their efforts to extinguish it...

It's kinda scary man how much the rain is messing with farmers. It's only gonna get worse man I hope not but I think we ain't seen the full wrath of this climate cycle. Not by a long shot.

I've been having so many dreams with water as the theme. Drowning, hit by tidal waves... it's really unnerving, these damn dreams
