Currently in the longest thunderstorm I think I've ever been in.

Over 4 hours of thunder lightning and rain.

The forecast earlier was at 20% chance wtf. These storms popping up all over

Whoa! The city west of me got two inches of rain last night and had flash flooding. We are suppose to get hit later tonight. Very unsettled weather. We would normally be haying now, but haven't started. Almost no one has! Don't want the hay that is cut to get rained on!

Geezz. Almost 80% of virginia was in a flash flood watch today. Really strange, out of the blue.

It's kinda scary man how much the rain is messing with farmers. It's only gonna get worse man I hope not but I think we ain't seen the full wrath of this climate cycle. Not by a long shot.

I've been having so many dreams with water as the theme. Drowning, hit by tidal waves... it's really unnerving, these damn dreams

Flash Flood in Pakistan on July 10 2019 05:12 AM (UTC).

A glacial lake outburst flood has hit several villages in northwestern Pakistan, even affecting the prime minister's sister, officials said on Monday. The flash flood caused extensive damage to houses, roads and irrigation channels, while the communications infrastructure in Golen Gol in the Chitral district was also severely affected. The flood washed away multiple houses and cattle along with roads...

Extreme Weather in Greece on July 11 2019 03:15 AM (UTC).

Six foreign nationals, including two children, were killed and more than 100 other people injured after gale-force winds, rain and hailstorms struck northern Greece late on Wednesday, uprooting trees and collapsing roofs, authorities said. Television footage showed strong winds sweeping through a restaurant in the Halkidiki peninsula, a region popular with tourists in the summer.

Streets in towns in the area were dotted with uprooted pine trees and overturned motorcycles, photographs posted on websites showed. "It is the first time in my 25-year career that I have lived through something like this," Athansios Kaltsas, director of the Nea Moudania Medical Centre, where many of the injured were treated for fractures, told Greek television. "It was so abrupt, and so sudden," he said...

Critical Infrastructure Disruption in India on July 11 2019 04:20 PM (UTC).

Millions of Indians in Tamil Nadu are relying on water tank trucks to meet their daily needs. With the government able to meet only 40 percent of the water requirement, millions of people in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu are depending on water tank trucks because of an acute shortage caused by drying lakes and depleted groundwater. Sekhar Raghvan, a water expert, said Monday that taps were running dry, but that meteorologists expect rain in the state this week and people are pinning their hopes on that.

It rained for a while in the state two weeks ago, but not enough to replenish water bodies. Gauri Shankar, a hotel general manager, said he was running his hotel in Chennai, the state capital, by hiring two tank trucks to bring water every day at a cost of 4,000 rupees ($57) each. "There has been no improvement in the situation in the past month," Shankar said, adding that some companies have asked employees to work from home, and that some restaurants are closing early....

Extreme Weather in China on July 11 2019 01:15 PM (UTC).

The heaviest average rainfall to lash a swathe of southern and eastern China in more than half a century brought torrential rain and floods, destroying houses, damaging crops and forcing the evacuation of nearly 80,000 people, state media said. Even more, rain is expected, state television said on Thursday, after average rainfall in the affected areas this week was recorded as 51% higher than in the corresponding periods of previous years, and the largest since 1961.

State television showed images of half-submerged buildings and flooded streets in some of the worst-hit areas. Trains along the Beijing-Guangzhou railway were delayed after rising waters blocked a bridge in the southern province of Hunan, it added. The latest episode has caused losses of 2.69 billion yuan ($392 million), with 126,100 hectares (311,600 acres) of farmland damaged and 1,600 homes collapsed,...

What are your thoughts on the extreme weather lately?

I think it's a cyclical event, that has a lot of factors and variables. The sun, our location in the galaxy - the energy has shifted somehow effecting our magnetic field. I have a bad feeling it's just going to get worse.

The mayan calendar was probably right on and signaled this cycle...

Flash Flood in USA on July 12 2019 05:06 AM (UTC).

The heavy rains that pounded Western Pennsylvania Thursday caused widespread flooding and hazards that shut down major thoroughfares throughout the region. The southbound lanes of Route 28 between the Harmar and RIDC Park exit closed for several hours because of flooding.

A preschool in Westmoreland County was evacuated when a large sinkhole opened up nearby. A single lane of Route 28 reopened by about 6 p.m., PennDOT spokesman Steve Cown said. Shortly after 7 p.m., southbound Route 28 reopened to unrestricted traffic between the 40th Street and 31st Street bridges, Cowan said.

The National Weather Service had recorded at least 2.31 inches at Pittsburgh International Airport as of about 8 p.m., falling short of the record of 2.96 inches set in 1971. NWS also reported Thursday's rainfall puts the airport's total at 30.02 inches, the second wettest year ever to-date and 0.67 inches ahead of the record-breaking pace set last year....
