For instance let's say an airplane (that looks like your typical swept-wing, four engine jet) flies over a mountain, and the wings and tail snap off due to the turbulence.

Would a flying car, rocket or drone (both presumably having no wings and only having vectored thrust) flying over the same area be vulnerable to turbulence like an airplane and break up, or would the fact they have no wings mean turbulence would be harmless to a rocket, drone, flying car etc?
