Chicago Tech Academy High School employee Jason E. Goodfriend was found shot to death in a vehicle Saturday morning in the University Village neighborhood on the Near West Side.

Goodfriend, of the 1300 block of North Maplewood, had suffered a gunshot wound to the head, and was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:07 a.m., authorities said.

Oh God FFS it's pinned.... There is no serial killer! This shit happens ALL THE TIME!!!!!! Drive Bys happen every fucking day, the local news tells us all about it, been going on for years. It's gangs. They occasionally target random people to get up in the ranks.

Even the loop has its share of robberies. The murder zones are primarily located in the heavy gang territories, which include the west and south side neighborhoods. The near south side in the Bridgeport neighborhood is relatively safe. So are most neighborhoods on the north and northwest sides.

However there have been armed robberies with semi automatic weapons in Bucktown recently.

I would not want to be on the west side from Halsted to Oak Park Av any time of day or night. The Englewood neighborhood just west of the Dan Ryan Expressway at 79th is also a no-go zone.

I live and teach in Chicago. I see first hand the effects this violence has on the kids. They're street smart ghetto brats with an attitude put upon themselves for survival. Everybody is angry at each other and they fly off the handle in a second. I can't take much more of the abuse I get from these kids. I will not be back next year.

However, a woman from my Church was shot in chest in drive by last week. Bullet passed right thru her, they stiched her up and sent her home. Two others bullets passed by her children in back seat.

She's the 2nd person to survive being shot in past few months from my Church. A 15 year old boy.was shot five times and is alive and cognizant.

I think we are going to have to bring back Medieval torture as a sentence for serial killers and televise it to make it less appealing for them to get into that sort of thing.

You are correct it happens all the time and it has not stopped.
That is the problem it was not like this when they had to pay severally for their crimes such as these OP listed.
There is no real restraint to their ways that would make them think about the penalty for doing it before they do it.

It has went down hill since the restraint of severe verdicts were removed.
It has been increased with the flooding in of illegals and legals as well as drugs and their dealers.
No normal human being would qualify for the death sentence, you would have to do something very hideous like murder to get it.

I say thin down their herds and save the normal ones lives.
