I mean - WHO HAS 13 KIDS just to treat them like that?!?! I suspect he's a monster and she was terrified of him.

Prolly collecting FOOD STAMPS for all those kids, too! The underage ones. Maybe even disability payments on the others.

I hope those kids can be "rehabilitated" to become NORMAL humans after that treatment. Not sure, tho.

What I don't understand is this. When there is a child welfare case involving minor children, personally identifying info is not usually given to the media in order to preserve the privacy of the minor children. Cameras are not allowed in the court room, and family court documents are sealed.


Why is this case different? Why is law enforcement giving so much information about this family to the public? Shouldn't a lot of these details be kept out of the media to protect the privacy of the minor children?

Conjures cinematic notions of children chaned up to their beds most of their lives, living like they are barely human. May be so, but it is not necessarily so. It may just be another case of the media bullshitting us. It may just be a strict to the point of abusive father who chained the girls up for a few hours out of some twisted concept of discipline. Their malnourishment may not be shocking for large families on limited income. The neighbour who never saw these children save for doing garden work under their mothers watchfull eye? There are probably several neighbours with different accounts that the media considered unnewsworthy as they do whenever they want to frame a shooter as a 'loner'.

It's so difficult to tell how much is true with the media these days.

For the record, it wasn't 13 who were found chained, it was 3 I think. Who knows what number were 'malnourished'.

The number 13 represents rebellion and lawlessness.

what i find interesting is that no one has come forward to say, "I knew them when..." you know like highschool, teen years, co workers etc, you get my drift.

Just Mr. Turpin's Mother, who says she has not seen her grandchildren in what was it 5 years. When she phoned and talked to the parents; her son and asked for the grandchildren she was told they were busy. If i were a grandparent and had not spoken to any of 13 possible to speak to in years that would send up a RED flag for me.

UPDATE Wed Jan 17th

some very weird sh*T reported today.

The sister of the Mother says she has not seen her sister in 19 yrs. Her parents had booked several flights to go see the family and their grandchildren but once there the Turpin's would NOT tell them (the grandparents) where they lived. The Grandparents " would leave in tears"

No one was ever allowed to speak to the children on the phone.


One of the previous homes from 18yrs ago was filthy the new owner at the time thought it was strange that the closet doors had vents on them and scratches on the back of the door.Suggesting the children were locked in the closet.


Neighbours from previous homes said if the children were with her children ( years ago ) when their children asked what the Trupin children's names were, the Trupins children's reply was "we're not allowed to tell you". Once that happened the neighbours parent would not let their children play or associate with the Trupin children.

According to the sister of Louise, the extended family did not know their address. It would be difficult to file a police or CPS report if you dont know where someone is living.

A really horrible case... We can only pray the children of these 2, will recover and thrive in a free world released from the slavery they must have endured at the hands of their own parents.

Where is the California Food Stamp office reports of how much $$$ they were given monthly? What did they put on their applications? Were they all on Free Healthcare-Medicaid?

If they were unemployed since 2010 or 2011 how did they qualify for mortgage of 370K in the past 3 years ?? Did they pay cash for the house after a 2011 Bankruptcy?

how did they qualify to purchase 4 cars? Who paid for the insurance for the 4 cars?

Who was paying for the utilities and clothing?

Who paid for the trips?

Someone has been bankrolling them!!! Who??

Sooooo many opportunities to derail this disaster train, and at least these several people did nothing.

I'm the LAST one to call children's services, but some things are blatant and need quality follow-up.
