The worst thing Trump could have done is prematurely go after his political enemies when that is what his political enemies did to him, and the crime they will largely be convicted on.

If he had arrested Hillary before the time was right, Trump would have been painted as another Hitler abusing power and the media would have whipped up an impeachment if not a civil war.
