You do not need false stories to crash gold only false gold in the form of paper gold contracts which they use.
They sell one year of gold mine supply in a few minutes to drive the price down.
They can print as much fake gold as they want and sell it to lower the price.

As this happens China and Russia buy the real gold at this lower price and we get paper dollars as the get our real wealth.
