Wow.

I am a female and I also am a member of Mensa and ONE other organization that requires 99.9% IQ percentile.

I had no idea there were other Mensa and Intertel folks on this site.

As for people boasting about their IQs, you do realize that you have to also list the TEST that says you scored whatever.

Just giving an IQ score of 174 without telling which test it was --- lets other people know...who DO know....that you are bogus.

I tested for Mensa and scored 99.9 percentile on the Cattell with a score above 148. I was tested at Rice University. The very sad thing is that I was raised in a family of geniuses and never told I was intelligent. I only tested because a child of mine had a score super high in the first grade and the teacher wanted to know my IQ. I was curious, so I tested to see where my child was getting the high IQ from. When I found out it was me, I had a personal crisis. It explained a lot of things, but it was a little late.

It is difficult for a woman to have a high IQ and find a suitable partner. Sometimes it even feels like a curse.

187 here from what I was tested in my elementary school days. It's nice to know that we intelligent people are almost exclusively far from what Hollywood paints us as.

Seriously? What test did you score a 187 on? I get really tired of people boasting this score and that score. If you cannot state the test that you took that gave you that score it is invalid. Some tests do not even go up that high. Most of them in fact.

Were you all clinically tested? According to which scale? The Wechsler?

Last I knew, Mensa is an exclusive club. You have to participate in a high stress testing scenario with them. Legitimately a genius that you've confirmed through a number of other IQ tests, but not the type to do well under pressure? Oh well! Mensa is not for you. More importantly there are many different types of genius such as military, science, and mathematical.

Because of the Illuminati's operation of the public and private education/school system only mathematical and science based geniuses are officially recognized at any given time. How sad is it that high intelligence is only officially recognized to fall into two specific groups when it falls into many different sections of life?

No lying here. I have a CERTIFIED IQ of 176 as measured in the department of psychology within a major university, during a supervised 3 hour test. I do belong to two ultra IQ organizations that are 20 times more selective than Mensa, and I'm a senior fellow in both.

Nope. At the elementary school by some guy who was brought over from an outside source. I overheard the results of my IQ tests from him when he was telling the results to an unseen individual.

They were whispering but the door was cracked open and I had above-normal hearing for a human at the time. It wasn't till over a decade later that I understood what "187" was connected to when he was telling that unseen individual my IQ, and what it all meant too.

I'd never been able to afford clinical tests of any kind in my childhood for a variety of reasons that are quite personal, AC. So I won't be getting into those reasons.

What do you do? Like as a profession? Surely you'd be a NSA codebreaker. If not, I'm calling BS.

I am looking at the test scores that Mensa accepts. For the most part, it is above 132. The Cattell is 148. That's about it.

So here is my take on that. All of these people who are bragging about 200 IQs or whatever are full of it.

Most people in Mensa and Intertel don't even mention it. Ever. I only mention it because it was not a great thing in my life.

And I also detest dishonesty.

Think of it this way. If someone tells you that they made a 45 on their ACT and the test only goes up to 32, they probably are lying.

If Mensa accepts people with scores of above 132 on most tests and 145 on the Cattell, and that means those people are in the 98% percentile or above, the tests are probably going up to at the highest 140-ish or 150-ish. Give or take a few points.

So, again, I have never heard of a real IQ test that Mensa accepts over that number. If there are such tests, please inform me.
